johnnyhacksaw 03-27-2007, 10:04 PM racing season is starting up soon at ingalls motorspeedway! i thought would start up a thread here for peolpe interested in racing at ingalls speedway, or have raced before at the track. our first points race will be April 28th and for you people that race the Tri-state series race #1 will be on June 30th at ingalls motorspeedway. i personally have been working hard through the winter to get ready for the racing season on both of new my cars. i did not do much racing last year and when i did race, it was my old car that need some major overhauling. so, for this year i'm going to work on doing alot of racing and try and finish well every race. 2 new cars are ready to hit the track, need to get some testing done. ingalls 1st day of practice is April 21 practice & clean up. hope to see you at the track this season!!!!
Brad Boling 03-29-2007, 11:59 AM Carpet racing season is about over so, I'm getting my car ready to go now... The motor has been laid down (which I done last fall), but I tore the car down sent the chassis to Binnicker to have him put it on the jig to square it up, have it re powder coated. When I get it back I will re-build it, new hinge pins, rod ends (courtesy of Frank) new style WCM shocks & updated front spindles, new red cap. All of that good sh.. Hopefully it will be a better season than last year. I may not have time to make all of the races, but I am going to try to make as many as possible. Definitely the Tri-State and hopefully the Midwest Nationals.

~Bradare you coming to the track on april 7th for track clean up and maybe shake car down if the weather permits? me, myself need some track time! i know i'm a little rusty!! brad did you get a sprint?
Brad Boling 03-29-2007, 02:02 PM The 7th is the last carpet race of the year at NewCastle. $$$ Race. It should draw a pretty big out of town brushless crowd, after that I will focus my attention to the 1/4 scale. I tried to get Holloway off of his old sprinter, but he is going to keep it for a dirt car. It is just as well, I'd just tear it up too. :drunk:

jbell31 03-29-2007, 02:58 PM My wife and I have the same time off and plan on going to Ingalls to race in the Tri-State race on the 29th and 30th of June.
I have a few questions. Can I stay at the track or go to a campground close by? We have a 24 foot camper and wanted to do some golf and camp a few days. I know it’s the 4th of July holiday at that time and want to get reservations if I can. Any information would be great.
Thank you.
Brad Boling 03-29-2007, 05:51 PM Jim, You can leave your camper there for the race, there is power set up all around the track. I know Brett G. Wheels in his big ol' motor home when he comes down! As far as campgrounds, golf and what not I am not shure.
I did not get a chance to go to the yearly meeting at Gaugers house this year...Are we going to get a new scoring system this season that utilizes personal transponders? This would be such a vast improvement over the old system. I know this issue was talked about last year...
jbrooks39 03-29-2007, 05:56 PM Are we going to get a new scoring system this season that utilizes personal transponders? This would be such a vast improvement over the old system. I know this issue was talked about last year...
MPR went to Personal Transponders and the updated AMB system; actually, the system was already there, we were still using the rechargeable models.
You should be able to sell the track transponders (and your old system?) to help fund a new system. Also, some of the financial liability is shifted to the racer by having them provide their own personal transponders.
Email or PM if you guys would like more details.
Thanks,
Joe
jbell31 03-29-2007, 06:03 PM Thank you Brad,
I imagine I need to contact mr. Gaugers and let him know we're coming. I can figure out the golf and camp site after the race. I'll just make reservation for after that somewhere.
johnnyhacksaw 04-08-2007, 10:48 AM was hoping to get started on the track this weekend, but was called off because of it being too darn cold and windy  . i think the temp this weekend as been around 30 degrees! what happen to the 80 degree temps we had a week ago??!!! it does figure good ol' indiana weather!!! o' well good day to do some inside work like paint some bodies!

I had seen that course on the internet, but wasn't sure if it was all that close to the track. We're going to be looking at some camp sites for after the racing. We wanted to take in some golf and see what Indiana has to offer.

Racenut53 02-05-2008, 09:28 AM Sounds good. Hpoefully I will be bringing 1- sportsman and 2-novice's, heck maybe just 3-novice's to the track this year. Hope 1/4 scale isn't too bad to handle. Only ran 1/10th scale before. Seee Yaaa there!
Joey
LetsRace 02-06-2008, 12:18 PM if you did ok driving a 1/10,(under control and drove well) you will do fine and maybe
better in 1/4 .
Racenut53 02-06-2008, 12:31 PM How is everyone on helping the new people getting started? Don't have a clue on gears, tires, springs and so on. Cars have Blackcap motors on them. one has a plastic carb. don't know how to tell what they are. It's me and my 2 sons that will be coming up to race. Cars are early 90's and late 90's WCM, The early 90's model ran there a couple years ago Purple #10, When I bought it it was pretty rough once I started going through it, having trouble getting left sides to track without being 20" wide. The third car is a late 90's Pro 1.
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the meeting.
Joey Williamson

tholloway 02-17-2008, 01:07 PM Meeting went great large turnout of new people. We will be running a novice class again this year along with sportsman and sprint. We will follow all of the QSAC rules so be sure to read up. Don't forget we will need several vol. for our NCS race in May so don't be shy. Lets make this the best race so far and make people want to race Ingalls Motorspeedway. The most important part of the racing season begins on the first and second Sat. of April, its the clean-up day. We have lots of projects that need done in a short time. Lets work together and get them done so we can enjoy the rest of the season. Good luck and good racing. P.S. You guys that need decal work done be sure to get an early start to beat the rush. You can reach me through my web site; www.stickwithholloway.com Also don't forget our 20th. season decal, money raised goes for a new sign. You can find that on my web site as well in my e-bay store.
Thanks Todd Holloway

The only other thing more additive than 1/4 scale is heroin. Get your checkbook ready, you're gonna need it to satisfy the Q-scale itch. After the first big expense, it hardly cost anything.
