looks like a great GASCAR, .09 and Quarter scale track! How is the surface for the little cars?

we are not currently not allowed to run the gas cars on the track...we have had some discusion about them with the hqma directors... their concern is the fuel getting blown onto the track and changing the racing surface for the hqma racing cars... anyone have any info on the gas cars and the gas fuel that might get onto the track on race day? as for the 1\10th scale pan cars it is way smooth enough for them we did some practice laps last week and i used 3 green and a red lr and it ran rather well on a dust track...

Just my damn luck, I'm in the process of getting a Nitro Pan car as we speak and can't race @ my home town track, guess I'll have to sell the thing and get me another electric ride, anyone going to run the 4300 brushless class? Is there going to be a race schedule released?

whats the run-line??
Night racing??

-DC-
03-27-2007, 01:25 PM
havent measured the track for a run line yet only been on it with my car 1 time... we will have all that figured out this weekend... as for night racing there isnt any planned as of right now... check out www.rc3racing.com for the schedule... as for brushless we would have to wait and see what shows up to race.most likely it would end up being stock motors 4 cell but 3 or more makes a class... come 1 come all!!!!

Quarter Scales would be cool on that track. They don't put down anymore oil than a Go-kart!

I just did a step measure the time I went out there, and it was about a 420' runline. Of course that is give or take a little.

Should be a blast to have races on.. Come on out and give it a whirl..

The Fuel Actually Increases Traction, Has Any One Ever Noticed That Almost All Traction Compounds Contain Some Oil Anyway?

-DC-
03-29-2007, 01:25 PM
i have heard that also... were are currently working on getting gas cars approved... i would really like to have a 1/4 scale myself... maybe if we could present them some of the cars for inspection and let them look at what might if any gas/fuel/oil if any at all would be left on the track...

I bet after the first race in Mtgy, the Coyote Pack could make a trip up there to demonstrate the 1/10th Nitor cars to them. I would bet we can get some of the 1/4 scalers to show up as well.

Try to get the 1/10th Nitros approval as well.

Talk to the owners and see if they would be open to a demo race with the 1/4's and the 1/10's.

Sounds like a plan Slider, I only hope things can be worked out in the very near future to run them Quarter Pounders and the Nitro cars here.

i cant understand why they wont let us run 1/4 cause i just dont see how we could mess up the racin surface we dont spray oil down and the cars will not damage the walls they have in place hope they come to there senses soon would love to come over there and get some laps

It is just the plain and simple fact that they are not sure.

Maybe what we should do is take a few of the 1/4's and some 1/10 Nitros up there for an electric race. Take time to talk with the track owners/officials and show them our stuff.

I think that if we do that, show them respect that we will get a shot to run there.

So................ when is the next race?

-DC-
04-11-2007, 09:22 AM
the next race will be may 6th... could someone explain the format in wich you guys race the 1/4 scale cars and the nitro pan cars? i have heard a few different ways but i want to be clear on how it should be run... not sure if you guys run in minutes or laps... also when a 1/4 scale has a wreck what takes place? does the race stop? we will need all this type info...

Tim Mc
04-11-2007, 05:59 PM
1/4 scale is run under the same format as a 1/4 midgets and nascar. Caution for wrecks and red flag for wrecks that require someone to go on the track to remove a car.

Nitros are pretty much the same as electric. No cautions.

ScottH
04-11-2007, 10:18 PM
In the Nitro's we will run 50 Lap Qualifiers with longer mains, say 150-200 laps.

No cautions in 1/10 Nitro. Pit stops are up to the track. What I mean is, pitting all at the same time or as STRATEGY dictates.

With the way the track is laid out, we would just about HAVE to do planned pitstops. The Quarter Midget pit road wall is way to tall to come in and actually have a pit stop.

We could probably do a lap run with our software. I think we did a couple of those over the winter with the 18th scale stuff..

Of course all this is depending on if they get aproved or not by the QM officials.

Scott, how does the pitting thing work, do you guys have someone there waiting to fill the car with fuel or do you just stop and pit the car yourself? I have never seen a Nitro race.

ScottH
04-13-2007, 08:47 PM
In IDEAL situations you will have a pit crew. At Mtgy, the Quarter Scale guys will sometime be willing to fuel us, so we will try to return the favor for them.

The last time I raced Nitro (my first) I took Jason to fuel my car, but it was not needed, we red flagged for pit stops. Now I can;t use Jason, unless we are in different mains. He now races one of the Coyote cars.

The pits are in the mains only. The qualifiers are 50 lap events and easily made on a tank of fuel.

The GASCAR guys, what REAL FAST R/C cars sound like ;). Just messing with ya Gilly!

DC -- Have you tested the waters with the owners of the track to see if they are open to some fuel cars coming up?
