Sonny B 04-09-2007, 01:27 PM Just want to say Good Luck to all the guys heading to the ROAR Nats. I’m sure Allan and crew will put on a great show.
I would love to be there but have a couple of project at work that need my attention.
Have fun and see you at the Ovalmasters.
Larry B 04-09-2007, 02:19 PM Sonny, I have a question about how much can be cut from the back of a 13.5 car. Is it a max of 1.5" from bottom of bumper to track? This will be my first brushless race and not up on the rules yet.
Sonny B 04-09-2007, 04:01 PM Sonny, I have a question about how much can be cut from the back of a 13.5 car. Is it a max of 1.5" from bottom of bumper to track? This will be my first brushless race and not up on the rules yet.
Larry
If the body has a molded bumper (like most PROTOform bodies) you can cut it at the bottom bumper line. If it’s a brand of body that does not have a rear bumper the distance from the bottom of the bumper to the ground can be no more than 1.5”.
really fred 04-09-2007, 04:08 PM if the back has already been cut out, can it be "stuck back in" ?
Larry B 04-09-2007, 05:12 PM Sonny, I have mounted a Protoform Charger. The rear is cut to the line for the bumper as manufactured. I am now higher than 1.5". I mounted the body using cap tires for set-up (I hope to also use this body Later at Easley SC. ). With any tire taller than 2.2 the hight is still about 1/16 short. Am I the first to have this happen.
The body was trimed to the line below the Protoform molding on the bumper.
I know that I can lower the rear.
This race will be my first time out with the 13.5. Can some someone give me some help on the roll out for 13.5 at Greeneville? Some guys are running near 3.5 with the new rotor. I am just getting started back up and was there this past weekend. Ralf
Sonny B 04-09-2007, 06:02 PM Larry
The 1.5” rule only applies to bodies without a molded bumper line. It was a simply way to keep guys from cutting a body without a molded bumper line ½” below the spoiler and calling it a bumper.
It seemed to work as we did not have any problems this season.
really fred
I would ask Allan or the ROAR race official for this event.
As far as the BRL we allowed our guy’s to add them back in until Jan.1 2007. After that we required that it be all one piece.

These are the rules at Greeneville! Just as Sonny stated Jan 1 was the cuttoff as far as I am aware.
