White-metal model by Conquest - the P5B was frequently seen, in news broadcasts in the UK, transporting British politicians - Maggie Thatcher was a big fan of the Rover. Who can blame her, it could only have been built in Britain.

A coupe with four doors? Well in Rover parlance, the saloon had a more formal roofline, whilst the coupe had a lower, more rakish, grrenhouse.

Throughout the 1970s, British Primeministers and senior members of government used the saloon version of the Rover P5 as their official cars, including factory fitted pipe holder for PM Harold Wilson always black and usually fitted with chromed Rostyle wheels. Great looking cars but the smaller faster P6 was preferred by the Police
