Another attempt at a "low cost" circuit protection for my track...

How about if I wired in a turn signal flasher...
The circuit gets over loaded, it turns the circuit off.
And resets itself...
Note... I do not run the high dollar, high current draw mag cars.
So high current draw from a slot car should not be an issue...

I am open to comments....

I don't know your definition of 'low cost', but when I built my track, I bought a pre-built 'wiring center' from Professor Motor. These use 8 (for 4-lanes) electronic self-resetting circuit breakers in the design. $20 Gets you a two-lane protector, and $34 gets you 4 lanes of protection. I can vouch that they work well. For another buck, there is a model that handles up to 10 amps/lane.

Look under 'track wiring and power supplies'. I used PMTR1071 for my 4-lane track, and it's worked like a charm. Instructions are clear and hookup is easy.
