I saw the trailer a few weeks ago. I've never seen the originals or the remake of the first film that was released last year, but I know a little about them. If they hadn't shown the title, I wouldn't have guessed this was one of the "The Hills Have Eyes" films. Looks mildly interesting, but not enough to get me in a theater.

Point of order - you asked about commercials, not the movie itself.

Haven't seen it, tho have seen parts of the movie released last year. Both look mildly interesting, but I'll likely only rent them or wait for them to come on a premium channel.

I'll bite! I rented these movies and others like them. I always liked B movies and sort of felt like I "discovered" directors like Tobe, Craven, and Rami. I can't wait to see what Tarantino and Rodriguez do with Grindhouse!

The originals.
The Hills Have Eyes (part 2) was made in the 80's. It had motocross racers meet up with the mountain people and was silly to the point of stupid. (Part 1) was one of my favorite discoveries and was really kinda creepy! A family with a station wagon and a trailer break down and get eaten one by one!

Now the remakes.
In (part 1) its the same scenerio as the original except the mountain people are deformed radiation freaks. I don't know if I'd call it scary but it is gory and there's an unsettling rape scene. It's bvetter than the 70's original IMO

I havent seen (part 2) yet. These are wait for DVD movies IMO. It looks like they send the military into the HILL's to find the rest of the mutants. I'll rent it.

I can't help but wonder if perhaps the military folk in the movie aren't Army Guard on maneuvers of some sort. Wouldn't surprise me, anyhow.

My wife and I were fortunate to have met and spend time with Michael Berryman (who played Pluto in the original) at Horrorfind in Baltimore in 2001. He was gracious, warm and outgoing. A true gentleman.

Yea - Berryman was up to Chiller a few times. Really cool guy.

Caught the Remake of HHE on DVD and enjoyed it (I don't mind a 'Wrong Turn' rip-off as long as its a good one.)
Will wait for the DVD for 2 as well

Check w/your local video rental, retailer or the like. I'm pretty sure it's already out and has been for... oh... about three weeks now.

If nothing else it was on cable last night. I forget if it was HBO or Showtime, but one of those two had it.

i found the hill have eye's part 2 .. but that's not the 1.. that 1 is made 1985 .. it on in a few day's ... showtime channle...
