We race stock pancar, brushless pancar, Stock 1/12scale onroad {No Brushless allowed in this class at this time} Foam Stock/ Brushless Sedans , and finally 1/10 foam truck . If there is another class that three of you maybe intrested in running bring it up to me for discussion and we will see about doing it . Still no rubber tires on sedans as it wears out the carpet to fast . -Josh ran the new Darkside 1/12th scale (very trick) with 4-cells up the middle, I got to give it a try, it was pretty smooth considering the body on it doesn't help in the handling department. Josh found the body on sale in some dungeon awhile back.
$99 TC4 kits and Factory Team TC4 kits $209 (like the HPI Pro 4) at www.ampdraw.com

JoeDirte 03-20-2007, 02:33 PM Matt
I would like to come back out to MO and race . I had a great time last year. Do you have any 2 day races planned for Aug-Oct? This time I will be bringing the KSG(not my L3O). I need another shot to beat my bro(Dennis) on his home track! I might bring my Grandson to race as well. I got him addicted to pan cars. You all need to come out to CA and race our paved Oval. We may have some big events this year.
Matt Bayless 03-20-2007, 10:04 PM No today races planned yet . It may be possible to run a two day race in the upcoming months . Tell your brother to get out here and race with us well you .
trailranger 03-21-2007, 01:29 AM Leon, well If I have to i'll run the Speed 8 Body. Just need to paint the rest of it. I'll have to cycle the rest of my batteries to get them livened up. They had a 2 month rest. For my sedan, I found a T1 belt tensioner that i'll make fit. Waiting on UPS for that part.
Matt Bayless 03-22-2007, 06:33 PM Paul bring your oval car sat. If anybody needs a 1/12 car let me know . I have a few extra .
fasthocars 03-22-2007, 06:52 PM Josh - glad to gear your going to finally breakout a current 12th body, i think you'll notice the difference right away. BTW don't throw away that body yet. it should work fine at the asphalt Hollister track where alot of steering won't be needed. they start this Sunday
Matt & Butch the Jari FF07 1/12th conversions (3 total) were ordered last night.
Matt, will you have any more TM tires for 1/12th cars at the track this weekend.
Matt Bayless 03-23-2007, 08:20 PM Leon I will have a set you can try .
Parts shop motors, batteries ,brushes all arrived for the shop walll today . Also screws, nuts ,shims, bolts, and bearings should be here next weekend .
trailranger 03-24-2007, 08:25 AM I'll be there this weekend.
All batterys cycled and prechaged for racing and bags packed. Just have to wait for work to go racing

7 ran 12th scale 27T and was split due to the huge lap spread 2B/5A
-Josh won the B
-Butch won the A, set new record
fasthocars 03-26-2007, 03:17 PM found these looking around the net, thought they might help. i don't have a way of printing these out, maybe someone can print some out to bring to the track?
trailranger 03-27-2007, 08:00 PM LEON, i have your 3/16 nut driver.
I think it ended up there from 2 weeks ago when I had to change out a servo saver..
I'm working on a new charging station...it may be there this weekend if I can get it carpeted.
fasthocars 03-28-2007, 03:49 PM outstanding that means i won't have to spend another $3.56 to get another one and might be able to start racing 2 classes again.
trailranger 03-28-2007, 08:02 PM TOWER will have the XTB 13.5T System FOR $179. BETTER GET ONE LEON AND PAUL...
That is an ESC and the new motor for cheap.
Matt Bayless 03-29-2007, 05:31 PM Paul you going to run oval Sat.?
JoeDirte 03-30-2007, 11:38 AM Dennis would like to know if anyone is running B/L stock this weekend?
paulwest 03-30-2007, 07:41 PM No Way.
Matt Bayless 03-30-2007, 07:57 PM Joe dirt none of the oval guys have brushless motors in their cars . If he needs a good brushed motor tell him to come see me and I got several from which he can use .
fasthocars 03-30-2007, 11:01 PM KevinP, Jason, and SteveL were the only ones that had the 13.5 in their 1/10 oval pan cars. i beleive the three of them only raced 2 times, one of those times was when we had 2 racers come in from out of town. other than that K & J ran against each other for initial tests of the 13.5 at SROC a couple of weeks in a row.
Within the last 6 weeks, K has decided to take a break (sort of what you did) from RC and is racing Sprint Carts, etc. S has gotten a different job that has him traveling alot. Brent, i don't remember him getting a 13.5 but he did run 4300, but has slipped away months and months ago. up until a few weeks ago J had no one to run 4300 or 13.5BL against, i think he ran his 13.5 with Raymond and Harold.
overall...during your time away there was a window of BL that has vanished in oval for now...unless you run sedan onroad at MBMS (formerly known as SROC). the 13.5 without sintered rotor, from what i have seen...is not faster than a 27T but over a 5min race the lap time don't fall off and the 13.5BL stays more consistent....due to efficiency and cooler operation.
need to get pan oval up and going solid again. i would just show at the track with it in your car and threaten to go to Chucky Cheese's Pizza if you can't run it :jest: ...
Matt Bayless 03-30-2007, 11:08 PM Now thats a short . Dennis just come out and run oval . I will make sure you get to run even if I have to put in a brushless motor .
fasthocars 04-01-2007, 03:14 AM Oval
4 ran 1/10th pan oval 27T, MattB won
Onroad
7 ran Sedan 27T/13.5, Paul won the A, Robert won the B-main.
7 ran 12th scale 27T and was split due to the huge lap spread 2B/5A
-Josh won the B and broke into the 50 zone with 51 laps running the Darkside 12th car.
-Butch won the A
trailranger 04-01-2007, 10:34 AM 51 laps was great for beating my personal best
Next, time I'll bump up a tooth or two on the motor. If anyone does comm cutting, i might do that next time there
fasthocars 04-01-2007, 11:28 PM Matt
some info if you start tackling the Jari FF-07 chassis 12th scale conversion kit this week.
effect of the 'tweak bar tuning fork' above the t-bar as the screws are moved front to rear.
Tweak plate and screws replace the t-bar standard tweak screws/location and it will give more side-to-side stiffness settings w/o changing t-plate thickness. So keep screws front you will have soft side-to-side spring and all the way back you have stiff one. Also you can turn plate 180’ and you will have 4 stiffer options to play with. You basically can use .063 plate and have 0.075 side-to-side feeling and .063 feeling back-to-back. Normally, use a 0.063 plate and screws second hole from front as the starting point.
Matt Bayless 04-02-2007, 02:00 PM Thanks Leon more to meets the eye on that 1/12th than I thought . Thanks to all who came out Sat. Welcome to MBMS Travis Crews , Dave Myers , Don Myers , and James all who first time was Sat . See you guys next week .Tom Davis see you Sat . for your first time . Chuck Branson said he may return to us soon to !
trailranger 04-03-2007, 06:47 PM 1/18th scale oval anyone? Since my sedan will be out of commission for at least this saturday, i thought I would dust off the John Deere and run it.
Anyone else?
fasthocars 04-03-2007, 09:16 PM Josh whats the latest secret Tower code?
possibly they may have someone that wants to run 12th oval. Matt has plans to run him with the 1/0th oval, but since you, Matt, and Robert have more than one 12th car now...maybe 12th Oval could be a reality.
trailranger 04-03-2007, 11:25 PM sorry leon the $25 of $125 codes all expired on Saturday, just have to wait till May.
Speaking of 1/12 oval, I hear Custom Works may be making a 1/12 dirt oval car. It would use mostly off the shelf mini t parts: Aluminum shocks, steel swing shafts, a-arms, steering block.
fasthocars 04-04-2007, 09:18 AM just because it will be a 12th scale doesn't excite me, i'm not just into the scale thing of it. i like pan cars. i would be running 1/10th pan onroad if it was still a major class.
as for dirt racing....don't see it happening in SPFD for a long time Joe....keep dreaming. when you find more racers with your enthusiasm to: run one, do track maintennance, pitch in, support it, etc. dreams would become reality.
fasthocars 04-05-2007, 07:13 PM Dennis would like to know if anyone is running B/L stock this weekend?
Joe, please let Dennis know that as of this past weekend...he is the only person that owns a 13.5 for a 1/10th Pan Oval car. Matt sold his 13.5 system and KevinP's 13.5 system also to sedan drivers. Harold has a BL speedo in his pan car, but is running a 27T. basically, the only racers running 13.5 now at MSBS are in the sedan stock class.
fasthocars 04-06-2007, 01:57 PM Matt
i still need batteries, a 13.5 BL system, etc. for my new sedan. do you have a oval pan car for me to run this weekend?
trailranger 04-06-2007, 02:54 PM Damn, 30 watt difference in the stock motors for the 13.5T, I wonder if my old stock motor is putting out on the EXB rating, since it is not the pro edition.
trailranger 04-06-2007, 02:57 PM back to the 1/18 scale oval for tommorow?
Matt Bayless 04-06-2007, 06:28 PM Josh come out and run your 1/12th car you did good with it last week . I have talked to a few of the Lebanon guys and one or two may try to get there 1/18 runable for carpet in the next couple of weeks . Leon yes you can barrow one of my oval cars .
trailranger 04-06-2007, 11:58 PM well, if anything my rc18T packs need some exercise....I put those babies away last summer...so almost a year. I have my 1/12 ready and batteries charged. If anyone brings a comm lathe, i'll bring a spare motor that needs a fresh cut.
fasthocars 04-08-2007, 02:41 AM Oval
3 ran 1/10th pan oval 27T, MattB won
4 ran 1/10 offroad truck 27T Foam, Kyler won and set a new record
Onroad
5 ran Sedan 27T/13.5, Butch won and set a new record
7 ran 12th scale 27T, Butch won
trailranger 04-08-2007, 11:29 PM well, if i sell my RC18T, might be able to pull up $100 to buy a used 1/12 oval car.
Matt Bayless 04-09-2007, 05:05 PM Great turn out this weekend guys ! All had fun ! So you all Sat. Josh just run one of your roadcourse 1/12th on the oval for now .
jake86 04-10-2007, 09:20 AM Matt,
Have you changed your Email address?
Matt Bayless 04-10-2007, 04:44 PM Jason its still prorod@yahoo.com is still active . You may have tried the old peoplepc address .
trailranger 04-11-2007, 11:22 AM What about a group buy on bodies for the 1/12?
fasthocars 04-11-2007, 12:02 PM i think Matt's plan for 12th pan oval at first will be run what you brung when it comes to bodies. i would see how many will show regularly and run this class ...consistently. right now we have only 2-3 who may be running this class
paulwest 04-11-2007, 01:59 PM I'll run as long as we don't run nascar bodys.
trailranger 04-11-2007, 05:45 PM Paul, what kind of body do you want run? The nascar would be fine with me.
paulwest 04-11-2007, 06:10 PM Same ones we are runing know.
Matt Bayless 04-11-2007, 06:36 PM 1/12th scale oval as of right now its run whatabrung . I dont care if its a jeep body . Going forward I will let the ones that are running the class week in and week out decide what to run ethier gp bodies or nascar .
SmoothRider 04-11-2007, 07:25 PM Why is the 1/10th scale oval not bringing in more cars? Now it looks like everybody is doing the 1/12th scale stuff. Thats one reason I got out of the rc stuff, one week might be the 1/18th scale cars popular, the next month they might all be running 1/12th scale stuff. These little things are to expensive to be buying a new car every other month or so.
Matt Bayless 04-11-2007, 07:47 PM Smoothrider thats a good question 1/10th is getting about four cars a week right now . We are trying to grow the track .We need new face so come out and run 1/10th oval with us . And their are some people that have 2 1/12th cars and no 1/10 cars and the want to run 2 classes so instead of asking them to go out and buy a new 1/10th oval car they are running what they already have to save money and see if they like the oval before the jump in big time . Some racers like 1/12th oval some like 1/10th but not to worry 1/10th isnt going to disappear here .
fasthocars 04-11-2007, 09:46 PM Why is the 1/10th scale oval not bringing in more cars? Now it looks like everybody is doing the 1/12th scale stuff. out of six regulars, four 1/10 pan racers are currently involved in 1/1 racing, the remaining two haven't showed due to job changes or personal decisions/reasons. SROC was going to shut down for 4 months this summer. Jason got up with Matt to make arrangements to keep the track open. Flyers for the track are at Sleeths Hobbies in SPFD.
1/12th scale is deep rooted (30 years) in the SPFD area. 12th scale electric is the oldest/original electric RC class. 12th scale may come and go, but it always comes back. Battery capacity started bringing this class into the spot light since 3300nimh's came out.
Many onroad racers at the track have more than one 12th cars, some have one and don't currently race it. when i first rearrived in SFPD (2005) at Perfect Slots, they were getting a sedan class up to run the indoor concrete track, i mentioned 12th scale and 5 sedan racers piped up to owning one. when i first showed at SROC in 2006, i found out 2 1/10 oval racers had a 12th onroad and 12th oval in their arsenals, but didn't run them because they were running two 1/10 pan oval classes. Recently Chuck Branson (SPFD veteran racer) has showed at MSBS with a interest in unmothballing his 12th pan oval car. Matt announced this at the track, some are interested.
when Perfect Slots shutdown, the 18T drivers split between Lebanon and SROC on where to run. SROC got a crowd of 6 to 12 for the first 2 months and by May 2006, faded to 3-4, in Jun 2006 they remaining jumped to sedan oval prior to SROC shutting down for 2 months. whens SROC reopened in Sep 2006, the 18T or sedan oval never restarted. The track that Mike Bayless ran in Lebanon shut down 2 months after he passed away. The Hobbytown in Branson has good a 18T turnout, they run on asphalt.
paulwest 04-11-2007, 10:38 PM Whate he said. :hat:
