View Full Version : Electric Racing - Reagan Park/Medina '07!
MuchoMadness 03-15-2007, 08:59 PM Hey everybody, I know there are a few different threads already here on Hobbytalk (Reagan Raceway, Electric Racing Northern Ohio), but just wanted to get a preliminary roll call for racers that will be running electric this season. Please continue to chat & post in the other forums, just check in here every once in a while to see what's up!
I know there's talk of the "pro" classes and a few other ideas, but just to make things simple for the sake of previewing our turn-outs, if you have time leave a post with your name & preferred class (2wd buggy, 4wd buggy, 2wd truck). That way we can all see who will plan on racing with us this year!

Whassup Mr. Dietz.
Yeah, I know. He's on vaca right now, but I talked to him last week and he's gonna try to make it out this season to run some 2wd. Tell Beard & Rico to quit playin' with each other & come on out. Tell Rico I said nobody cares if he cheats since it's "open" class. :jest:
Take it easy Sir, maybe see ya at "Da Bula" sometime soon.

I got me that xxx4 g+ 4wd. No trouble finding one of those for sale used. haha
Might go to 'bula this Saturday if I get out of bed. Waiting on a PT for my rc18, sssssooooo I'll take the xxx4 & B4. Not buying at this time. Looking for a deal on a Mamba Max.
Cool idea to make a list of drivers. I think everybody has the itch for outdoor season. Least I hope thats all thats itching!!@#&*

Sweet! And I'm sure the motor will either be a hand-out from The '98 Indoor Champs or an old GM Evo that you couldn't get rid of. Don't forget to upgrade the bevel gears with the Thorp DirtBurner ball diff. It's money. :jest:
Rico - Ya know you're my hero!

Why a frog??????? So you can leap over the competition???:p
Jason, I am going to devote my racing time to Nitro this year because I can not do good at electric any more. I will try my hand at nitro, and have plenty of excuses when I fail at this......

Hangtime, I understand that there is a nitro forum. I was replying to the mention of my name earlier in this thread. I wanted to let JM know that I would be concentrating my efforts on nitro and not running electric this summer......... I apologize if this interferes with the " Electric " portion of your thread.....

"Leap over the competition".........that was like a really bad "Dad" joke Ben. Might see ya at Da Bula soon, hopefully.
Good luck with the Nitro buggy, you're a wheel so I'm sure you'll be fine. On the other hand, everybody gets a "bad batch of fuel" once in awhile, right?!:p
Later mang,

P.S. Are the 2wd guys at Bula runnin' stock or mod this weekend?

Thanks Junior, good suggestion. We'll probably see how the first couple races go, and work from there. I'm sure Chris will cover that at the first few driver's meetings if he decides it is a good idea.

nitrojeff 03-17-2007, 07:56 PM we need a rent-a-marshal
ccm399 03-17-2007, 07:59 PM What do you guys think of putting Gas Truck between Open Truck and Open 4wd?
I know this pretty much screws up the electric marshaling electric thing but it would help for the drivers running both Open Truck and Open 4wd. Putting Novice Between Open Buggy and Open Truck solves that problem but unless we have more than one heat of Open Truck we have nothing to split Truck and 4wd.
Thoughts???
Thanks in advance for your input.....
Chris
RCBOYZ 03-17-2007, 09:19 PM Chris, whatever you think would work best. You have been setting up heats a lot longer than I have, so for me, I say OK.
I'lll be running 4wd open, Chad & Tyler will be running 2wd stock. You can add that to the list. I think Dylan needs to move up to a stock class (didn't he run novice all last year). He has proven himself, and is more than capable of running with the big boys.

Gas truck is like a noisy mod truck. lol Now 1/8 scale and truggy is another thing.
ccm399 03-17-2007, 09:39 PM Mike I just put everyone where they listed themselves. And I think you might be thinking of Niegel not Dylan, Niegel moved up to Stock after the first Novice series.
I will add Chad and Tyler to truck.
Thanks guys.

Jason feel free to copy and paste this on the fron page! Looks like the electric turnout is going to get great!!!
Thanks to all those who have helped spread the word about Medina R/C Raceway (http://www.medinarcraceway.com) this winter!!!!
Chris
Looks like a great electric season!! I haven't raced buggy in years. I'm going to go with 19t. to start, then hopefully a Tekin brushless b4 the season ends! See you all next month.

HookupsXXX4 03-19-2007, 04:58 PM Hey all,
I have a question about gearing. I am going to put a 10X3 in my XXX4, with a 92 spur. Any idea what I should use for a pinon? I think I am at 18, and ran well at B&J's a couple weekends ago.
Looking forward for the season, I really hope 4WD takes off. From the roster that is forming, it should be a blast.
Later,
Jerry
RCBOYZ 03-19-2007, 05:32 PM Jerry, with a 10 double I was around a 21-22. Depends how much traction there is and motor temp. But you should be good if you start with a 21-22 at the least with a triple.
Mike
