These two cars were chasing the same market, although, the philosophy was very different. The Honda was front engined & fwd, whilst the Toyota had a mid mounted engine powering the rear wheels.

I like the 1984 Honda CRX Steve! I almost bought a 1:1 1985 Honda CRX in 1985.

Once again, GREAT PICS!

Closed my shop down in '84. Went to work for a local TOYOTA dealer. Stayed there 6 years and 8 owners. The next to the last were the ones that introduced me to hot air ballooning. They said it was for promotion purposes but I really think initially they thought they were going to deliver parts in it. :freak:

Anyway I got to drive several of the MR2's. Found them a little light in the saddle at over 100mph. My F/P Midget outran one at Charlotte through the road course so I suppose I was less impressed than I initially was when I first saw them. It didn't stop me from drooling when we got one of the green and silver ones in. Looking at this one again I still like it.

The CRX? Eeeeeeeh!
