Hey Guys, Thanks for all the support and praise. Y'all are too kind!

The new spray goo process is pretty exciting for me. There's a lot of unknowns, but so far what I do know is encouraging.

I'm pretty geeked up to shoot my XKE roadster in it's original olive color. I may shoot the deuce coupe in olive as well for the stock color street rod look. I've got a jug of orange cookin' too which was my original color choice for the coupe. I'm still leaning towards the orange.

It wont be long and Joe will be knockin' out hiboy roadster clones. I'm ready to finish up and get rollin' on the next one.

Here's the last piece of the puzzle.

The windsheild looked a little nekid from behind in it's new location. The slit had to be cut right at the inside edge of the dash. This left a void that bugged me.

A filler/dash panel was made from the rear fender crown of the donor "J" car.
It had a nice rolled edge that suited the need. It was glued in place and blended with the final coats of goo.

Barring any catastrophes it'll ship to Joez mon or tues.

Thanx TX - It's "glass-tic!

Thanx Jerry - I'm having a lot of fun doing these styrene sprays. I'm hoping to get it down to the point where rare cars can be repaired with no trace.

Joe, Ready or not here she comes.

Double thumbs Dave? That's the rr's highest tribute. Thanks much. I'm humbled.

It's been a while comin' round on these buggers. I've had this twisted plan to have a custom HO deuce collection. I'd like to have at least a different design for every day of the week, and each one in a different color of the rainbow; or until my TM has me committed which ever comes first! :p

Havin' Joe jump in and offer to cast these 'lil buckets was an unexpected surprise that just sweetens the pot. Bless him.

Oh man, Bill--you are a one-man custom car show!

What beautiful work!
All your prep really paid off!

The smooth sides on the bod' completely chage the look--the way it should of be made in the first place-

I don't know though...that Orange Crush coupe just crushes me!
I really like that, too!

My hat's off to you once more...

Wow, the finnish on that plastic is like glass!

Me like....me like  Yeah Tex, Bill was lucky to round them up-
They do one heck of a job with a buffer and can make plastic look just like glass-
(Much better than the Poles or the Turks)

...And they work for salmon or cod!

Cheers..

Ha Ha Boss, A one man car show!? More like the Bataan Death March or the Trail of Tears.

I know you guys are secretly having a pool to see how long I can drag these things out.

We'll all be below the sod line if I dont pick up the pace.

Admittedly I do derive some pleasure in torturing y'all while I grind these things out in granny gear. :freak:

I keep going back to your last pic, Bill. Now my keyboard is all wet with drool and tears, eh. These are truely beautiful cars!

You have no idea how geeked up I am to start on this roadster! I have my bench cleared, swept and scrubbed. The clay has been de-linted and my legos are stacked in neat and orderly columns......gentlemen....start your dremels!

This will be harder than waiting the last few days before Christmas!

I'd buy you a Coke, brother!

They're not without their warts Joe! As you'll soon see. The camera does wonders.

I've got to admit that the process creates a certain luster that I like.

When you've completed your mission, I'd like to finish 'er up. One or two more coats, HEHEHE. Not to worry! When mixed correctly this stuff is darn near impossible to run unless you've really asked for it, short of falling asleep at the trigger. It's waaaay easier to control than conventional paint. It stays where you put it, and I have yet to put a run or hanger on a bod in spite of my greedy nature. It's like spraying nail polish (Hmmmm, another little side project here? Checked out the female claw paints lately? There's a myriad of wild colors available!

There's still a coupla ghosts that need exorcised, pipes to be hung, and a suitable driver. That little dude's gonna have to go on a diet to fit behind the new dash. I may have to buckim' off at the elbows as well.

I've already started roughing a blue coupe with a "pillbox chop top". Ala the Gear Buster gun slit look and hopefully with the Darda grill. A yellow roadster will get started pretty quick with the Boss' rumble scheme and your rocker box idea. I'm leaning towards that gaudy yellow like the dare devil ramps were made of. They'll be rear drop axle cars. I probably will stick with the street rod stance as the red High Boy's standard rear stance really didn't send me. I'll wanna change that one later.

The fun is just starting. I'd be doing these 24-7 if I could get away with it.

The fun has just started!

The deuce master has flown the nest. It is now in Joez capable hands.

Now if we could only get him to quit running it around the track.

He probably crashed it. I did! Ya just cant help but turn'er loose.

Thankfully she's a tough 'lil bucket. :p

Joe! Hurry up and take that sucker apart so you can cast it.

We should be getting a report from Legoland early next week.

I've already got one idea for a pretty sweet paint scheme.....

Bill,
Cool and sweet is all that can be said about your custom works on the coupe.

:o You are The king of Kuts,The master of mud, The prince of chop, The..
Aww, Sorry back to the subject.I was watching Chop,Cut,Rebuild there for a moment.

I have been Diggin in the boxed archives in the evenings when I get a free moment. As soon as I locate which box the grille is in I will fire it out to ya.

You just don't get the full effect of the mounds of junk..I mean parts until you start an adventure in search of the goldin grail piece.. :freak:

You can sleep well Bill. The coupe is in good hands with Joez ..

By the way Joe, What am I to do with these busted up parts of..
"Oh my god, it did get away from you didn't it"..

TX,
Can't wait to see what scheme you have going threw that twisted mind of yours now.. That coupe looks so cool that it could only make it cooler with what ever you throw at it.. "Paint that is.. Not bricks, floors, walls"
Am I smellin a green :dude:

Gear Buster, Thanks for the props. Now cut it out! Yer messin' up my humble . ;) "King of Kut" LOL. My thumb will back you on that!

Dont sweat the grille. If your place is anything like my place that grill will turn up when you least expect it. Our house never loses anything; but I lose stuff on a daily basis. Still looking for a shrunken head (driver) that took a bad hop of the work bench. Lil bastage landed on his helmet and boinged off to the twilight zone.

Joez only has the roadster right now. I'm still fussing with the coupe. It was pushed aside so I could finish the high boy. I just keep spraying and blocking in 2000 till I finally nail it. Picky, picky....I cant stand "shine lines" that aint straight. Tips me right over the edge. :freak:

Wait til you see the next victim. I went after that gunslit look like your "A" body with the darda. The roof is a pillbox style made from a vibe XK140 nose and a S'cumaro roof panel. It'll be that deep dark blue like the vibes had.
No pics yet, still working on the A pillars/windsheild area. I'll post up when the roof and A pillars fit.

LOL Joe! Let's not forget that I milked the original build for a month. So that big pile of beautiful replicas is actually picking up my pace considerably!

With any luck we'll have the wind at our backs and have these ready for Coaches next auction!

I'll start modifying the chassis as soon as they land. Thanks to Daddy (Ed) for the sweet deal on NOS chassis for this project.

Jeebus Joe looks like you should have made two dozen!

Well guys the plan for the Roadster bodies was never profit motivated!
Early on Joe and I agreed that a limited edition first run would be made available via David Scott's Heart of Hobby Talk charity auction.

I'm awaiting the finished shells from Joez. They will be fitted with the standard T-jet chassis. Note: The chassis must/will be modified at that time.

THEY WILL NOT INTERCHANGE WITH A STOCK CHASSIS. The project was originally designed to see what I could do to get away from gutless slimline power and still wrap a nonbulged, enclosed hood T-jet Deuce body around it. The windsheilds will be trial fit at this time also.

Once they are fit and dialed in they will be blocked out. Originally VJ and TX were volunteered to apply the final paint schemes. I will be keeping one for Joe's R&D project to see if I can spray styrene over cast resin with reliability.

Providing Jim and Brian are still in the game; for their contribution to the cause they get to keep one for themselves to use as they see fit. So that tenatively leaves nine for the charity auction.

Once the cars are painted I will recheck the windshield fit and double check the chassis QC. The driver or additional things like pipes, lights etc will be left to the winners, so that they may individually completed by the winner to suit their personal tastes.

Keep in mind that I just made the styrene master; as Joe owns/developed the mold it is his perogative to reissue any second editions or individual units at his discretion; so y'all better tone down the mullet, cat, and missing digit jokes if a second run is to be! LOL. If Joe is willing, any of my other Deuces will be made available to him for future projects as he sees fit.

Just for the record I have no issue with cloning the replicas so long as it is a non profit venture. The original idea was to do something fun for a darn good cause.

Many thanks to all for your kind words and support!

Thanks for the compliments, guys, but a casting will only be as good as the mold it was pulled from and that will only be as good as the master (Bills roadster). They were fun to cast!
Bill is right, though. There MAY be more at a later date......maybe. ;)

Around the start of August Joe, thanks for the plug. Just want to make sure I don't rush you guys and your donations. I will have some ready for it also. and RR already sent some cars in for it. The Next one will be for the American Cancer Society and I would like to be able to send them in checks for about the same as we did for the heart fund. (1000.))!! I think we did ok last auction, just had everyone make out the checks and M.O for the amount they bid paid directly to the charity, no worries about having to transfer cash around and everyone got thier own tax reciept. Glad to see everyone quing up for these cars of Bills and Joes. think we may set a new record. Good luck everyone and if anyone wants to get in go ahead and join us! Its all for a good cause and one sure fire way to make sure every memeber of Ht agrees on something.. helping out.. your a great bunch even when we don't get along lol.. I will even toss out a 50 bid on Duece #1 right now...

Here's a partial pic of Deuce Alley. In the forground are Joe's fine 4R hotrods (that's Red Roadster Resin Replicas) awaiting chassis mods. All other projects will be tabled as we move back into HHT production this weekend.

The magnet housings will be shaved. The front pan and rails will be trimmed, The rear apron will get bobbed. Following the initial mods each shell will be assigned a chassis and the screw posts will be drilled. I'll deburr the gear sets and break in the works on the bench.

Once the bodies are properly fit the pickups will be modified and the specialty wheels will be bored and installed. After the obligatory testing and tweaking session to get them all up to snuff; I'll start on the nit picky bodywork which will finally include a scuff and block to ensure good straight shine when painted.

After some consideration I will also look into dropping the butt a little for a more channelled appearance. Providing there's room the shave the rear post. It always kinda bugged me, and I think I left room for some improvement.

Hey Coach, Always a boyscout! I bought the chassis from Ed around the time the roadster left for Joez. I'm sure I plugged Ed somewheres in this thread. If not, consider yourself plugged now Daddy.

Sorta hate to barber perfectly good NOS chassis' but I still want to deliver a tight, reliable, chassis!
