Firstly, I should explain the thread title. One of the hits on UK TV at the moment is a police series called "Life on Mars". The premise being a cop from the present is involved in a hit & run and is knocked unconsious. When he wakes up, he finds himself in 1973. It is something of a culture shock - being a modern copper, working with, somewhat less than PC colleagues!

Anyway, his boss drives a Mk III Ford Cortina rather like this:

It is great seeing '60s & '70s cars all over the place, plenty of Ford Escort Mk Is as well:

All three are from Vanguards. I don't think either of the Fords were available in the US, but, the Avenger was - marketed as the Plymouth Cricket!

Neat! Haven't heard of the show here. If its not to over the top it might make PBS here.

Nice to see that the UK can export some programmes - were any sub-titles necessary? :)
