Seeming overnight I have 5 t-jets. I wan to replace the wheels on them. But where is the best place to get crome mags? I know about RRR but I am not sure they are slip ons. It says that all wheels come with tires.
On of the cars I bought I want to keep the mags but I am having a hard time finding the right size O.D. .400 I.D. .260 width .180 any Ideas?
I really wish the tire guys would put all three dimensions on there sites. How is Newbie to know the size of tuff one tires.

Hey Brian, welcome to the awesome world of Tjets. Right from the start, I'll admitt that I LOVE the look of the RRR wheels......but they suck for racing. The reason being is they are usually out of round...and need trueing up in order to run worth a darn.
In the past I have had some great luck with trueness of the RRR wheels....but this last batch that I ordered a couple months ago REALLY sucked.
The tires that RRR include with thier tire and wheel combos ARE in fact slip ons.....all of RRR's wheels are designed to use a slip on tire.
I will STRONGLY vouch for RRR's new silicone race tires. These suckers stick like glue to the track....and I'm currently running a set of thin (designed for the front wheels) RRR silicones on the rear of my race VW Bug...and she runs like a rocket with them!
The RRR tires will also fit on "Vincent" brand wheels too.......check out MEV's website to order Vincent wheels..... I run these wheels on my Bug also...and also on a few other cars and they are extremely true.....at least the 5 various sets I ordered are ;)
Hope that helps,
Brian

Greg Braun's site HO Slot Car Racing. He sells sweet aluminum mags....
http://www.hoslotcarracing.com/Main.html (scroll down a bit)
and there was an HT thread about these too...

or Mike Vitale's site (MEV Originals). He sells his own and Vincent Wheels....
http://www.tjets.com/index.html
or JW's HO Speed Parts. All machined hubs of all sorts and sizes.....

... of these mentioned I have had great performance with the JW's. Have not tried the others though.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I did not get back sooner.
Those ho slot car wheels look sweet but a little expensive for what I want at this time but someday I may want them :p
About the vincent wheels on the page it says
Depth E can use standard AFX/Tyco rear tires while A/B depths require a special tire which I now carry.
Is he the only one that carries these tires? Or do you just E depths for the front also?
thanks for all the help

Hey Brian, at this time I do believe that Mike at MEV is the only dealer in the US that is importing these Vincent brand wheels.
I've used a couple different combos of wheel widths on a few cars so far.
