View Full Version : Rhoda: The Motion Picture frankenstyrene 03-08-2007, 07:14 PM Jes some kiddin after that "this sucks" hissiness over yonder. Zorro 03-08-2007, 08:39 PM I could see Sarah Siverman doing it. Griffworks 03-08-2007, 08:41 PM Jes some kiddin after that "this sucks" hissiness over yonder. "over yonder"...? beeblebrox 03-08-2007, 08:45 PM Talks like he's from Oklahoma or Arkan...oh. :D Griffworks 03-08-2007, 09:11 PM Nah, I'm alright w/that and know what it means. Just not sure what he's on about w/the "hissiness" over yonder that he's talkin' 'bout. Basically, "what hissiness and over where" is sort of what I was meaning. :) Capt_L_Hogthrob 03-08-2007, 09:48 PM You know Griff, When a cat is mad they "hissiness"! And sometimes its over "Yonder"!! frankenstyrene 03-08-2007, 09:59 PM re: the hissy, pant-wadded post over in the other folder about how this forum mysteriously (and I quote) "sucks." That's all. And no, I'm not a redneck, hillbilly nor hick - "briars," locally - tho I do have to work with them every day of the week. Sometimes it rubs off. Like fungus (an actual incident recently). Shoulda said "Alice: The Motion Picture." Wouldn't have been any less funny, or more funny. Both're kinda "eh." Griffworks 03-08-2007, 10:20 PM OK Still had no clue what you were on about, so started looking in other forums here in the Modeling section of HT. Found the thread - "Attn. All Models" - read what the TROLL wrote and then BANNED him. Is that more gooder? :) frankenstyrene 03-08-2007, 11:00 PM Mucho bettero (a little Spanish lingo there for those of you in Rio Linda). frankenstyrene 03-08-2007, 11:01 PM BTW: you're the only non-Britisher I've ever seen who uses "on" the way you do. Just an obs. scotpens 03-09-2007, 01:52 AM I could see Sarah Siverman doing it.I assume you mean Mary Richards’ friend Rhoda, a.k.a. Valerie Harper? Yeah, Sarah Silverman would fit the role — unless she's too Jewish. :p Reminds me of a joke that made the rounds back in the ’70s, when it seemed EVERY sitcom was spinning off other sitcoms. Y’see, rumor had it that MTM Productions’ latest show was going to be called Carlton the Doorman.Shoulda said "Alice: The Motion Picture." Anyone remember Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, starring Ellen Burstyn? Some of us have short memories, I guess . . . didnt that/she win a major oscar? im aboiut sure it was nominated. toyroy 03-09-2007, 10:30 AM ...rumor had it that MTM Productions’ latest show was going to be called Carlton the Doorman... Don't they still plan to film My Dinner with Carlton the Doorman? BEBruns 03-09-2007, 10:44 AM Reminds me of a joke that made the rounds back in the ’70s, when it seemed EVERY sitcom was spinning off other sitcoms. Actually, the proper Spanish term is very, very bueno. SteveR 03-09-2007, 12:17 PM Wasn't Lorenzo Music the guy in the studio audience with the "haw, haw" laugh? scotpens 03-09-2007, 12:33 PM . . . rumor had it that MTM Productions’ latest show was going to be called Carlton the Doorman.Hate to tell you this, but: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0302387/It figures! gruffydd 03-09-2007, 03:41 PM Wasn't Lorenzo Music the guy in the studio audience with the "haw, haw" laugh? I think that was James Brooks but I could be wrong. But it was one of those guys (the definitive stand that I take). My Rhoda Movie Fantasy: Barbra Streisand will do the movie, star and direct, natch, a musical. The trials of an older Rhoda. Dianne Wieizt will be the neurotic sister Brenda. Dr. Ruth Westheimer will take over the Nancy Walker role of Rhoda's mother. Tom Jones will play the love interest and husband Joe. frankenstyrene 03-10-2007, 09:08 AM Dear God, what have I started. I am become Death, the destroyer of threads. Trek Ace 03-10-2007, 12:27 PM Rhoda, who? Genuflect, when you use that name! Trek Ace 03-10-2007, 10:13 PM Oh, THAT Rhoda. I remember watching a few of the Mary Tyler Moore Show episodes when they were originally on, but to me, she will always be Laura Petrie. Rhoda I don't think I ever saw in it's spinoff form. I was always working when most of that stuff was on, anyway, so I just didn't make the direct connection with the Valerie Harper character. toyroy 03-10-2007, 10:32 PM Oh, THAT Rhoda... There's another? frankenstyrene 03-11-2007, 08:09 AM Big prehistoric bird, supersonic speed, hangs with Godzilla... Griffworks 03-11-2007, 12:28 PM That's Rhodan. :D Capt. In other news, there appears to be some kinda Rhoda devotee online at Youtube. No, really. It's a sign. THanks for that, you are pretty darned hilarious. JohnP, to this day I'll never forget your post way back when about a plane you built and hung from the ceiling and never liked and were never satisfied with and you punched it off the ceiling into "a kit again". I don't know why but I laughed so so hard at that one. John P 03-16-2007, 06:49 PM THanks for that, you are pretty darned hilarious. I don't know why but I laughed so so hard at that one. A fond memory, It was a Lindbergh B-17, which I built in honor a this adorable blonde named Donna I went to high school with. She was always lusting after my friend Ed, and he was only mildly interested. I named it "The Reluctant Virgin." terryr 03-17-2007, 12:14 AM So you bust the reluctant virgin.
