Heath glad you chose a Saturday and Sunday Race.... I just hope the wife has our baby on the 5th when schedualed. That would be the only reason I would not make it! Look forward to this event. Keep up the great work, it's always nice to call Maximus my home away from home!

hanson never to young to put a radio in his hands just need to find a smaller one...lol. not sure if i'm gonna be able to make this race with the saturday thing now. and theres not enough time to practice sunday morning before the heats so i may just sit this one out.

I like the format....Sounds like Heath is doing whatever he can to get the guys from far away home at a decent time.....It's easy when you live an hour away....It really becomes tough when the races get over at 7:00 pm and you have a 6 hour drive ahead of you......Hopefully you can make it Brad it will be a great race......Also I like the idea of 2 heats on sunday...Heath always manages to sort the heats pretty good so it shouldn't be a problem having a clean run.... Justin

Brad Sousa

i know mike but the problem is i would probably not be able to get there until 8 A.M. sunday morning so it would be tough. who knows maybe i'll come sunday morning and use the first heat as a practice and hope i can get in a good run for the 3rd. we'll see i'll try my hardest i hate missing these races as they are the best ones around and always draw a good crowd. hope 2 c u there. Brad,

I have thought long and hard about the time changes and I applaud you for still considering running Sunday with only the two qualifiers.

As always I enjoy having you and all the racers from Radical Ricks, hope you can still make this race.

I am aware that changing the race to a two day event there will be many happy and unhappy racers. If it works out better then we will stick with it, if not then we will change back.

Time will only tell and I really and hoping for nother great race.

Don't forget the track is always open for practice/racing on Sundays up until the race.

and if my funds allow me to drop $400 to get the speedo motor and upgrades

GTB: 174.99 (LRP sphere is 179.99)
4300 motor: 57.99
sintered rotor/endbell upgrade: 45.99
total: 278.97

novak will have the complete package for 264.99 soon

Brad Sousa
02-22-2007, 06:42 PM
tommygun. cool alittle cheaper then i thought which is alway good!!!!! but i'm leading more towards the lrp sphere competition which is 225 i believe. so who's in for 4300? 2 days or 1 day i'll be there anyway and do my best.i don't wanna miss this one. brad

I 'm thinking about this brushless deal myself. A lot of questions I need answered first. Are these things all equal or is it luck of the draw like brushed motors? Would be nice to take the motor out of the equation. How long before someone figures out how to tweak these things, hot chips etc.?

The Jet
02-22-2007, 11:22 PM
Bob, if you talk to the fast guys in the midwest they'll tell you they vary quite a bit. Some guys have short track systems and different big track systems, even though they are supposed to be identical . Manufacturing tolerences effect everything.

Hot chips??? You bet some guy's know more than others.

Rusty22
02-22-2007, 11:59 PM
ill be in for 4300 if i an get a system before the race. but for now its stock for me.

You will find alot of your questions have been answered in the brushless forum. As far as how much motors vary, in that forum, they say they don't vary hardly at all, just don't get them super hot (run the sintered rotor and it will be fine). I have talked to some guys that run brushless they say once you find the gear, it's all about setup and driving, the motors are all the same. Just saying what I've heard. We will find out!
As far as hot chips, from what I understand it's just like a brushed esc...the motor controls maximum speed of the car, not the esc. There isn't a chip in the esc that restricts it from max power I don't think?

I did a brushless shoot out for RCCA (Nov 2005 issue) we tested both the LRP with a N.E.O one and the Novak SS 5800 system. This was 6 cell off road, but the difference was the LRP was way more liner to the novak, the novak came on way stronger with the throttle. The LRP had more top end 40mph LRP VS 34mph for the Novak, radar gun for the speed. same buggys, same gear. NOt sure about the newer systems.

MIKE VALENTINE
02-23-2007, 12:47 PM
Nick that sounds about right, the NEO one is considered a 8.5 turn where the 5800 is a 10.5, also the lrp speedo is closer to Novaks gtb then the SS. It would be cool to do a test in oval between some systems.

PUF19
02-23-2007, 01:03 PM
I will talk to the powers that be, and see if they will cut loose with a few systems, to see if we could do an Oval/ newer system test...

MIKE VALENTINE
02-23-2007, 01:45 PM
Puf, your est bet would be to just dyno the motors with each speedo. That way there is less of an effect due to car/driver reliability.
