At the 1971 Le Mans, Porsche entered, for the first & only time, the experimental 917/20. Designed to complement the driveability of the 917K, with a low drag body. The result was a short & stubby car, nick-named the "Pink Pig". Consequently, it was painted rose pink, with pork meat cuts, stencilled on the bodywork. The car, driven by Joest / Kauhsen, was in 3rd place, when it was forced to retire, following an accident.

The model is by Minichamps, to their usual high standard.

That's wild - at first glance I thought it might be an Andy Warhol "Art Car". Thanks for the explanation; it's nice to hear that Porsche has a sense of humor. Great model, too.
