If the track is fun to drive, the off road guys will come out of the wood work. Especially if you have cash payback or trophy races.

We will have at least 5 trophy and 4 cash pay out races this year. The plan is to have 3 races a month. If its not a pay out or trophy race we will have ribbons at the very least. That includes the oval track as well.

I will be posting dates very soon.

Thanks, Duke. Also, If you would like to call me, phone 750-1181 after 5pm.

Are ya talkin MBX-5's are ya????? You will have your hands full with the crew that will be racing this year. We are talkin the best money can buy and then some,in 1/10 nitro trucks and 1/8 buggy's and truggy's. We will have guys running Losi 8, RC 8, Jammin's, MBX-5, Hyper 8 with Collari and VZB's just to mention a few. The guys that are commin out this year say they are out for blood! (Randy's blood) Not only Randy's. Anyone who wants to race and have a GREAT time on a NICE track needs to come out to Proscale R/C Raceplex. I believe the 1/10 nitro trucks will be the largest class again this year. I will even be running in the class this year! Catch me if you can, new GT-2 this year, It's sweet!

Leonard, the main thing is tires, then tires and then tires. Step pins are a must! Bowties work good too, but run a little looser, it will help you turn if you are pushing some. I am not sure on the springs for the Jato. GT's will work well with greens or reds in the back, silver or blue in the front, oil 30 to 40 wt, that will get you real close with an associated truck. Sorry if this does not help you. Anyone else with some help/ opinion for the Jato?

Duke. (I have a new Factory Team GT'2 for sale, built!)

With a track this close to me how can I resist. I will be coming out of retirement this year with an RB powered Losi 8. I have never been an oval guy but I think I can find my way around an off road track for a lap or 2. ;)

Always good to be stupid fast! Buy the way, how fast do you guys like your tracks?
I have been told that my track is a fast track but I think you guys should come and check it out for your self. It's not a BIG HUGE track but they say its fast! I am not a well seasoned off road guy so I can't speek from experience.

looking forward to some racing. what are the dimensions of the track?

Duke Bradshaw
03-06-2007, 08:42 PM
It would fit in a 110'x80' rectangle approx size. The reason most of the guys say it's fast is the lane width is around 13 to 15 feet and there is not a jump every 5 feet like some tracks, there is room to let'er go. I will be adding a double and a second table top this spring, lights for the Off Road and pit area and speaker/PA system, trying to make it first class.

I would like some ideas on how to get the electric guys out.... they just don't seam to want to come! I don't know!

Maybe the Trophy and pay out races will get them out!!!!!

02CooperS
03-07-2007, 11:04 AM
I know of some electric guys that would be willing to come out, myself included. Most of us race at Raw Roots during the summer so it would only be an every other weekend thing. The big thing that makes the electric guys hesitant to show up is if the track really isn't built to run electric. But from the size and description in your post it sounds like it's well suited for all the classes. Just keep us posted on the race dates and I'll do my best to get guys to show up on a regular basis. Most of us would be running 19T or Mod truck and either stock or 19T buggy.

Duke Bradshaw

Can you get me some dates for the Raw Roots track, I will try and stay away from thoes dates If I can so some of you guys can come up to run. My track is nothing like Chad's track. I believe that you can run them all on this track and have a great time with any car or truck. I had 2 hpi 5-b buggies out once last year, one guy thought the track was maybe a little small for the 1/5 buggys, the other guy LOVED it!

Had 2 guys up from Raw Roots with electric trucks, put a whoopin on most of the Nitro trucks. It was sweet!

I tell everyone that they need to come try out the track for them self and then you can and see if it's your kind of place to run. I think you'll like. I do know one thing for sure, "you can't please everyone all the time" But I'll try! The AMB rc timming system will make a big difference this year for us, I might be able to run for once!!!

Any input from other racers that have been out to race......Please, feel free to jump in!

Thanks,
Duke.

As soon as I find out what dates Raw Roots will be running I'll post them. Last year the season started on the first weekend in May and went every other Sat. after that, but I don't know if that's what is planned this year.

Does anyone have an opinion on the starting direction on the off road, after all, you are going left and right on an off road. Any thoughts. What do the rules say, any rules for off road starts. I am hearing it does not matter.

dos'nt matter duke, you can start it either way you want to. Other than that you will want a variety of obstacles and corners that will challege the drivers. In off road drivers should compete against each other AND the track.

The majority of tracks go clockwise but it would be cool to go the other direction from time to time.

I would agree with 02CooperS, to get electric out on the track you need to have a track that is not so large that electric is not worth puling out. Chad had a wonderfull gas track, but as good as it was for gas, electric was painfull to run there as the track was so big that electric just was like watching paint dry. Also the track surface is another thing. Gas tends to eat up softer tracks but if its too hard, 2wd electric can't get a grip and again make it unfriendly to electric. Thats a tricky one since most gas is 4wd so have a lot more grip, but go too soft and the track falls apart quickly.

Duke Bradshaw
03-19-2007, 10:23 PM
Fish, I agree, Chad's track was and is to big for 1/10 electrics. My track is not at all like Chad's. Everyone that has been out thinks it is a good all around size for all but mini's. We keep the track waterd down for traction and dust. You will need to check it out for your self. I hope you come out to race and bring all your bud's. First race April 28th. I will post all the race dates this week for sure. Also, we will have 3 payout races this year, anyone interested in something like that feel free to respond.

Thanks,
Duke.

The beauty of off-road is that everyone has to run the same track. You can get electric to hook up almost anywhere. It's just playing with set up and tires. there's always little tricks to get a 2wd to go the way you want. I personally feel that if you run 1/8 on a track that is leaned towards 1/10, you will learn to drive better.
