Hangtime 02-15-2007, 09:50 AM Checking the map, Austintown is do-able for me. Hope it takes off, because I will give it some business.
beavis353 02-15-2007, 10:20 AM Totally do-able for me too. Only 25 minutes further than Jefferson for me.
Scott54 02-15-2007, 11:40 AM So where at in Austintown is this track supposed to be? I've heard the rumor thta it's in a plaza which makes me wonder about the size. Anyone know what classes will be ran?
Torinogt1971 02-15-2007, 12:07 PM Dietz talked to Dan (the track owner) yesterday. The track will be in the Wedgewood Plaza. I was going to drive by one night this week and look in the window...........:p
I kinda hope this works out so I have an indoor track to run at when Ryan closes for the season. As a bonus, this is 10 minutes from my house........:D
Scott54 02-15-2007, 12:32 PM It's about 10 minutes from my house as well. The wedgewood plaza could be a great place for a track, there's some really big areas to rent. Actually, I'm heading to the Austintown Hobby shop today, I'll swing by there and take some reconnaissance photos.... actually, I'll go to lunch now and do it. If there's anything to take a picture of, I'll post it in a couple hours.
Jo jo FRY 02-15-2007, 12:54 PM Totally do-able for me too. Only 25 minutes further than Jefferson for me.
Jefferson is 10 mins from my house and that is to long...
zetsyt4racers 02-15-2007, 01:37 PM He's got two more if he gets this thing going. Myself and son are racing stock class T4's and would love to see this materialize. It also has the added bonus that its only about 25mins. from my house.
Scott54 02-15-2007, 02:17 PM Well I drove through the Wedgewood Plaza and there's only 1 vacant space, there's nothing in it and it is pretty big. I'd say about 80'x150' but I don't know if this is the place or not. Does this make me a stalker?
emod15_777 02-15-2007, 02:51 PM yes Scott, you are a stalker!
Torinogt1971 02-15-2007, 03:33 PM Why is Scott a stalker? Does he look into your windows???????????
Stealth_RT 02-15-2007, 07:48 PM Interesting, only about 1/2hr drive for me. But they probaby aren't gonna run 1/8th nitro there.
R/T RACING 02-15-2007, 08:17 PM I talked to Dan 2 times on the phone. He seemed really fired up to get this thing going. But, he should really check out his forum!

I don't mean to be offensive in any way or try to tell you what to do, but some of the nicest tracks around only attract about 50 people. Are you sure you want to divide that up into 4 days of racing. I know some people will race more than once a week but I just think that will make each race day kind of weak. Believe me, I hope this works out and I can't wait to race there but I just hope that I'm not showing up to race just 5 people because the other 20 possible people decided to race on one of the other 3 days. Just a thought.

i appreciate your reply but well if i get 5 racers so be it that will be five racers having a better time than just sitting at a bar or in front of the tv doing nothing fun like rc racing . Right now i have no racers coming but when i open i hope that i with my will to the sport will attract more into this hobby maybe the ones who did many years ago and forgot about it. i feel that there are adam drakes out there and ill find them, so for all who read this know there will be fresh meat on the drivers stand and they will have to work up to stand with the more experience drivers and they will and maybe shock a few so be it thats what i want more loving the same passion we all have to make this more competetive sport. well i hope to get more than 5 and maybe make the track that good to make you want to come more than once a week. Also maybe on april 1st all who might want to help design the sweetest track particpate in helping me and my crew design the perfect track im open for ideas email me if interested we all have to work together and unite and then we can have what we strived for so many y7aers of waiting a family of rc.i dont know about everybody else but im bored as heck during the week at night and if i could race twice a week or three times a week i'd be there you know. There will be 2 week point series and i will pay out more than any other track so your time and will to win will present itself everytime you step foot on the drivers stand
a-town raceway 02-18-2007, 12:40 AM if anybody wants to help design the track email me

zetsyt4racers 02-18-2007, 09:19 AM Dan, we are so there. I'm 42 and my son is 9 years old and can not wait for this to open. I love the fact you will have all those days open for just practice and racing. I love your vision of the future. We'll come out and help!
Hangtime 02-18-2007, 10:34 AM When do you get the keys? We want to see it!
Torinogt1971 02-18-2007, 07:17 PM Rico- If there was a bar, then maybe we would have an excuse for our driving lately.......
