If you want other options and dont mind spending a little more
Try a KOPropo PDS949

I had a KO947 and then tried both the Futaba 9650 and 9550 and prefered the feel on the KO's better. The 949 is the replacement for the 947. You can program the 949 if you want using their software and a laptop or their handheld device. I never messed with all that though.

Is it true that the 9650 only works with an FM radio?

It's a digital servo and requires a certain type of signal for 'centering' that AM radios are not capable of. So, you have to have an FM, PCM or DSM radio.

What is it about the Futaba 9650 that makes it the servo of choice?

The 9650 is light, fast, and digital. And isn't very expensive. Plus it is a futaba, is there anything better?

Anyone out there running a JR servo? What is the JR equivalent to the 9650?
