Guys,
I was unaware of any immediate problems in Boss's way. I ask God for a speedy recovery and that all his friends be there prodding him to get back on his feet again.
Peace my friend,
Ray

Ditto!

Had an email from Phil and everything went fine. He's on the mend and may join in on the chat Wednesday night if he feels up to it. If not he'll be back on the board as soon as time and healing permit.

TX,
He had surgery to remove a cyst/growth from below his shoulder blade. He said all went well and he was doing fine with just some discomfort which he was taking care of with some meds. No he won't be able to play the piano, but then he didn't play before the surgery either. ;) rr

Hello, HT friends-

Thank you for the warm well-wishes.
One easily forgets how convenient it is having all digits and joints performing as normal. I was quite complacent in this-
This last visit has been quite the eye-opener.

I’ve lost 70% of the use of my left arm-
I still have extreme pain in my shoulder and cannot sit still long enough to write—I have to write in snippets and save it as a draft.

Some things are a ridiculous production- like just putting a coat on. There are things I can’t yet accomplish-- brushing my hair, and washing with that arm brings a crippling stab-, which stops me, cold-

What makes it worse is having to do the usual at this time of year—cleaning the drive and bringing in the wood. Someone has to do it, and that someone has to be me. There is no-one else.
One working arm or not--I just suck it up, cry bloody hell and get it done-

I don’t know if this is the way it will be forever, or I can expect a brighter outlook. I will know more soon from my upcoming visit- hopefully they will off’ up some kind of therapy if they can isolate the cause…
I may be under the knife again before it’s all over.
I’m pretty sure it’s now in the joint.

I’ll pop in and update.
Thanks very much once more,
phil&Fam’

PS—Sorry I’ve missed chat and not responded to the thoughtful e-mails or recent posts…

Very kind of you, Coach!
heh, I wish I was close enough to be of help to Good ol' Boss!

Boss,
Take it easy, use one of your big trucks to mash the snow down on the drive, eh! As far as the wood goes, you have 2 able-bodied girls that can cart the wood, hey! They have to earn their keep somehow!

You are in our thoughts, mate.
I hope the next RX visit gives you a good prognosis, eh!

Update:

I’m closer to “box-stock” again-

This has been a busy time with multiple Rx visits, the weather, and a funeral for the Sister in charge (RIP) from my daughter’s school the other day-

The news is I have a pinched tendon. This can be healed with therapy and meds’, but will take anywhere from 3 to 8 months to properly mend. I’m coming along much better with the new meds’—and these seem to isolate the pain better, allowing me to function somewhat easier than before.
I am scheduled for another specialist’s visit this week coming.

For those of you who think I may have been acting the goat on chat: I say stand on your feet, bend over sideways, and hang one arm straight down- as far as you can (but for only a minute or so, then you have to move-). Then “hunt and peck” w/one or two fingers trying to keep up with the ongoing repoir’-

I still had a great time!

Rr--You are right about that—never was too good at tickling the ivories, but I can still bend steel with my bare hands-
(uhh- guitar strings…)

But, never fear, Sir-
Joez’ cat (don’t remember its name- “Lil Mull” or something like that…) caught wind of this, and sent over a couple of friends to ease an aching soul.
His cat also knew I have a dog-- but knew everything to her was an apparition- unless it was holding a biscuit or treat.

And it turned out to be a musical comedy/dance duet!

Sadly, they barely got started…

Trudging through the inclement weather- without their booties or mittens, the pianist placed a wet paw on the Xmas lights--I have yet to put away, and promptly lost two of the nine big ones left.

Meowouch!

The other half of the act seen this and was shocked!

A cat-a-strophic event on such a purr-fect day!

She immediately packed up and high-tailed it out…

Thanks for the well-wishes and keeping in touch-

Cheers..

Damn,
Glad to see you're feeling better. Sorry about your cats. Another string stretcher? Couldn't believe it. Scary. Anyway, I tried like heck to hit chat on my new pc tonight. I am now with VISTA. Still trying to figure out what doesn't work anymore with this new PC and OS upgrade. The funny thing is I can't keep up with all this desktop stuff anymore so I'll call the neighbor over tomorrow (He's only 44, and works in this sh** still) to get in. Kept saying I was getting in, just never saw anything back on the chat screen. Heck, everything else seems to work. so far. Maybe next week. If not, I'll hook up the old one.

RR, install sun Java as a seperate program ( Sun Micro Systems) Vista has the same problem as 2000 had, they took out Java ato plug a hole. and installed nothing.. Sun java is more stable anyways.
