I need to find some more of those Bobcats! Great stuff! Keep them 1/87th ones coming Motormax!

That said, the tempos have a pretty crude bumper, and seem to ride really high. The tempos don't seem to be of the same quality as the Pinto Wagon, which was the best executed of all of these, IMHO!

Cheers,
Harry

my 94 Tempo was one of my favorite Beaters ive ever had. We took it sleding once and upon getting to the hill, removed the hood, drilled 2 holes in the front to tie the rope to, had a ball for 4 hours, then threw the hood back on and drove home...those were the days :)

We very often compared it to the boat that Cpt. Jack Sparrow is on at the begining of the first pirates of the carribean movie

Since we're sharing Tempo stories........I had an 84 Topaz that I bought from my sister for $100.00. I ran it for about a year and a half before the trans gave out. Oddly enough, the trans in my Scrambler quit two days later, but that's a different story. Anyway, I left it at a friend's place, he had a small shop where my brother did a lot of side work. One day those two got bored, and they ran my car over with a truck! A 1967 F250 with 2 1/2 ton axles and 53" tractor tires. Squished it flat! It's a shame that I don't have a scanner, because I've got some great Polaroids of the carnage.

How much are these a piece retail? Can they be found at places other than WalMart?

I just bought my brother the 81 Escort that they made, a white one and a red one.

He used to have one, not sure what year, but it was a 2 door escort like his... he just flipped out!

They are $1.97 for a 1:87 car, only place i've seen them was at walmart

PS: You think the Tempo or Escort is bad?? They are releasing a Reliant... YES! A RELIANT! The emphamis "K" Car!!!

I haven't seen the Escort yet, but I'll grab it if I do. I did pick up the Pinto Cruisin' Wagon last week, I couldn't believe they made that one. I almost ordered one of those for my first car, way back in '78.

Dear All:

Yes,a Relaint 1983,a Matador Coupe and a Chrysler Town and Country SW (the latter will be done in two scales;Diplomat Chassi). All exquisite models,to say the least.

Stanmmx, how do you know all about these new plans that Motormax have for the Fresh Cherries cars? Are they accurate?

While answering that can you also verify rumors of a Fiero? Will it be a GT or 2m4? What color is the woody wagon going to be?

I have a couple Tempo stories...

I took a driving lesson in a Tempo. I freakin hated it. My mom got me the lesson so I could practice parallel parking before the road test. Between the steering being whacked (really hard to turn the wheel) and the brakes being whacked (the instructor's pedal hookup made the driver's pedal really stiff) I'd have been better off without the lesson...

then I dated a girl in college who had a Topaz. She got rear ended... I got a friend of mine with a body shop to help her get it back together. They ordered pieces (bumper, taillights, etc) for her year car, and they were all wrong. Turns out it had already been rear ended before she got it and they used older stuff to rig it back together and sell it. What a mess. We couldn't find the emergency fuel shutoff either...

Now I gotta go check those links to new MM stuff...
