BSR about 2.10 like he said TM about 2.06 if you have the ride height still left and the same on Murdock's. cneyedog 01-29-2007, 10:30 AM With RC4less tires I run them until 2.10 as a rule ........ depending on your ride height and whether its asphalt or carpet ........ I have run them as low as 2.08. Hope this helps..... Rich briano_72 01-29-2007, 06:25 PM for club races, you run till you hit the plastic, jsut adjust your ride height !!! i think with bsrs thats a little lower than 2.05. THE DARKSIDE 01-29-2007, 10:36 PM 2.00 with Jaco's (a.k.a. rim) omnis85 01-29-2007, 11:09 PM 2.00 with Jaco's (a.k.a. rim) yea run them down to the rim, now its a new class DRIFTING...just repeak lol KLUPI 01-30-2007, 05:09 AM Thanks for the imput, I have been throwing them away around 2.10. I made a mistake in my original mesage about the starting size. I usually start at 2.250. pmsimkins 01-30-2007, 02:18 PM Sometimes they will work below 2.10 sometimes not. When they are finally too small they don't go away gradually it seems to be pretty sudden that the car goes from being great to terrible. If you go much below 2.10 you risk blowing a qualifier or a main when the handling falls off the cliff. That is just what I've found. Barooose 01-30-2007, 02:44 PM pmsinkins. Just like a couple weeks ago, eh? Pushing the tires til they get too small. pmsimkins 01-30-2007, 02:51 PM pmsinkins. Just like a couple weeks ago, eh? Pushing the tires til they get too small. Yup that was what I had in mind. With tires wearing as fast as they seem to now just planning ahead for how I want to use tires for a race day seems to be half the battle. dangerousdave 01-30-2007, 02:52 PM I take them off when Sully beats us!!!... Dave D 3wideroberts 01-30-2007, 05:43 PM Do you notice a lack of performance with a tire too big or a tire too small, if so what is the ideal size? Thanks pmsimkins 01-30-2007, 06:07 PM Do you notice a lack of performance with a tire too big or a tire too small, if so what is the ideal size? Thanks There are lots of different opinions on what's ideal. I seem to have the best luck between 2.13 and 2.19. I start my tires around 2.25 typically for club racing though typically they don't see any actual races at that size since practice wears them down. When they get too small there isn't any sidewall left and consequentially they lose a lot of bite. When they are too large the car will get around the track it just won't be as fast as it could be. 3wideroberts 01-30-2007, 08:54 PM For club races, i have been running like 2.12 at the beggining and they wear to about 2.07 by the 2nd round then i put on some 2.13 or something in that ball park, and i wasnt sure if it was hurting me but i tihnk its hurting me now lol, thanks for the advice 3wide darrel 02-01-2007, 02:08 PM My sk handles pretty well with any size tire. the main thing u might want to focus on is the weight % gained or lost with tire size. If I keep my car at or around 61% rear weight it seems to be pretty stable all the time. The last set I threw out were 1.985 LR and 2.000 RR CHUNKED Joey 3 02-02-2007, 03:29 PM It also seems to me when a tire is to big there seems to be a chunking problem also. rc man 02-03-2007, 03:01 AM What about front to back tire size? Last week went to a BRL race in Fort Wayne Ind. and some of the guys were running taller fronts. What will this do to the car? KLUPI 02-03-2007, 06:46 AM I wouldnt think it would affect the car to much, I have had to run larger front tires and I didnt have any problems as long as the ride height was in balance with the rear. 3wideroberts 02-05-2007, 09:14 PM I tried running from 2.10 to 2.25's and my car lost a lap, im not sure if it was because our track is so tight that the tires are actually flexxing causing it to slow down or, im not sure. 3wide pmsimkins 02-05-2007, 09:40 PM I tried running from 2.10 to 2.25's and my car lost a lap, im not sure if it was because our track is so tight that the tires are actually flexxing causing it to slow down or, im not sure. 3wide Keep in mind the tire size is dependent on brand. TM and Murdock have smaller wheels so consequently you run the tires smaller to achieve the same sidewall. If you are losing a lap running tires larger than 2.10 it is the result of set-up not the tire itself. Are you keeping an eye on your ride height and adjusting as necessary? You did remember to adjust your gear ratio, right? Are you also keeping an eye on your stagger? 3wideroberts 02-06-2007, 09:04 PM Absolutly every was adjusted i spent an hour changing everything over lol, i was a bit disapointed, i took off weight on my car, then i weighed the left rear and set it to wear i ran it before, then i started the race and the car was pushing like a dump truck. Keep running a harder center spring until you get the balance right. Also raising the center shock angle up one hole will help too. aracefan3 02-06-2007, 11:08 PM  I run my tires until the wife lets me buy some more.. fixitguru 02-07-2007, 05:00 PM  I run my tires until the wife lets me buy some more.. Boy that is for sure!!!!!! He really gets his moneys worth.Boy what a tight a$$ OvalTrucker 02-07-2007, 07:48 PM I let a guy run my back-up car last weekend. When I gave it to him the tires were all around 2.15 or so. He ran about 450-500 laps in an enduro race and only changed out the RR. Both fronts were under 2.0 and the rears were about 2.05. At one point during the enduro race we were both on the track at the same time and he was considerably faster than me. I've never ran them that low before. But, I'm gonna start. 3wideroberts 02-12-2007, 05:17 PM Finally gave bigger tires a chance this weekend, and i noticed the car was easier to drive and FASTER. RPM, I moved that center spring up one notch from being neutral with bigger tires, and i was .7 seconds off our track record.
