I am sure some of you have seen this (david wu). Here's what the daily show had to say.

Gotta give Takai and Nimoy credit for a good sense of humor!

Americans, guilty of nothing more than being willing to give the last full measure of their devotion, are dying in scores. Iraqis, guilty of nothing more than trying to live in their own country, are dying by the hundreds. I'm sure you have a better question. :)

I prefer to think this has more to do with Nimoy and Takai having a good sense of humor and joining in on the joke.

I agree, and leaving out the politics, the funniest thing about it is David Wu must have been sitting around at one time thinking, "My faux-Klingon speech is really going to shake things up".

Thats not even the daily show, thats a fake news thing on comedy central.

Which is called The Daily Show, as even the most rudimentary google search should have shown you, or even watching the clip carefully before responding. If you feel you must be continually condescending in threads, and feel you must share your opinions about everything from kit cost to fake news shows, perhaps you should try to have at least a minimally informed opinion?

I work for a public agency composed of publicly elected officials. While some may be guilty of saying things out loud that maybe should have called for more discretion, I can't for the life of me think what would possess a policitian into thinking, "Yeah, surely a speech heavily referencing Star Trek will drive the point home without being mercilessly ridiculed..."

I highly suggest you keep such thoughts off these forums. If you have a problem, you can bash me with a PM if its so important to you.

And I highly suggest before you publically post something like "Thats not even the daily show, thats a fake news thing on comedy central", you find out what that "fake news thing on comedy central" is called.

Otherwise, don't get your panties in a bunch when someone points out your publically posted mistakes. It's not "bashing" you when someone points out that you are factually inaccurate.

"Hello, Pot calling Kettle! Come in, Kettle!"

In other words, you could have just as easily done so w/your initial comment in this post, nx-01troubles. Scott's got a point about a number of the comments you make here and at the SciFi Modeling Forum coming across as condescending in nature while not having a grasp of the whole picture. You have readily admitted on a number of occasions that you're relatively new to the hobby and don't know that much, yet you comment as if you know exactly what you're talking about when you more often than not don't really know.

To whit: you're coming across as a "know-it-all" who has to interject in to conversations when he really doesn't know it all. Just chill out, learn from what other folks are posting and don't feel that you have to give your opinion on every topic that comes up. Just some advice that I hope you'll consider with a dash or two of salt.

However, that doesn't make Scott's comments above any more right than yours. So, thread locked and a Warning issued to the two of you - nx-01troubles and PhilipMarlowe - in regards to re-reading the TOS for Hobby Talk, please. You could have made the same statements w/o getting quite as personal - or taken personal comments to PM. Play Nice for a week or you'll get a Three Day Time Out.

Thank you for your cooperation. :)
