How many of you have seen people "fly fishing" While racing? How many of you had to move from the spot you really like to drive from? Theres many other kinds to watch. The guy that drives with his ear, The king of hook, the dancers, The guy listening to his ipod. I really like the fly fishers. Usually asking. Are you going to poke my eye out? How about giving me some room? Thank God for spectrum.... Lately i have been to some tracks that have a platform with no armrest. I think that helps alot. Lets hear some input, im sure this will be a funny thread..

Im not a fan of the "walker". The person that feels he needs to walk up and down the drivers stand following his car.

I'm not a fan of anyone who blocks half the track and then gets pissed when any of the other drivers step forward so they can actually see their cars.

Cabbage patch I thought it was the Running Man. Try standing next to Ozzie on the stand his normal radio holding position is right at an average guys face.

i went to this race where this guy literally took 4 steps to the left when the car was in the backstretch and 4 steps to the right when he was in thefront stretch. its a good thing the stand was almost as long as the track itself.

how about two 'fly fisherman' in the same race...funny to look at...but even better when...cars are half a lap away...i've seen this before...those two fisherman wrestling the space left on the stand...and the inevitable occurs...there so in sync...that they bang each other elbows lap after lap...man that was funny...lol

I seen that same situation up at the arcor nats last year in akron, there were 3 guys standing beside each other and they were all very close racing and they would all lean left and then right. At least they were all in syncronized formation, but it looked like they were doin some kind of wave or something. I also saw this guy once drive his car fron the infield he actually drove better like that.  He knows who he is

Gotta love the old crouching tiger manuver.
I also love it when you get a guy who has to lean on the railing and hang out above the track.

I had something like this happen this past weekend, the guy had his radio so far in front of him I couldnt see jack on the front stretch, I actualy stoped and walked to the end in order to finish the race.

alot of great R/Cer's are fisherman. Cyrul, Bobby Flack, Andy Moore, pretty much any Euro or Asian driver that uses a stick radio(you kinda have to fish with a stick radio) These guys don't have erratic movements but they got the line in the water in case something swims by.

My personal fav is the Zubak Sway.

The best is watching Tony Carruba, He got the sway down pat, even better he'll have a tendacy to quit watching his car and drive somebody else's on the track.
Then when his car crashes at the other end, you'll here a big WOW come out, lol

My favorite one was a "local" racer at the Open wheel race held at Kranzels about 6-7 years back. This guy did the fisherman with his tongue, and swayed. We were in stitches, every race more and more people were watching waiting for him to wreck and bite off his tongue.

Wolfman

Zubie has been the toughest to race next to though. High radio and fishing

Don't forget the "moon-walker" the guy that would slid from one end to another if he was the only guy up there,

I raced with someone like that and i could always tell where he was on the track, When he bumped into me i knew he was going toward 3 and 4 when he was far away i knew he was in 1 and 2.....

Wolfman i rember the guy fishing with his tongue. It was a long time ago. We showed some girls. They nearly died laughing..

I dont have any comments about anybody but myself.

Yes I am a leaner and a swayer. For me it all comes from slot car racing. Us guys were elbow to elbow racin. I think it turned into self preservation,You had to go with the flow cause all 8 were doin it.(thats sumthing to watch) If im leaning Im not runnin too good, if im swaying Im in a groove and all is well.

01-24-2007, 07:10 PM
Just lately I've caught myself leaning/swaying to the right as my car passes by the drivers stand, I was going into a 12 step program but the drivers stand ain't that big lol

Mr. Wolfman: I second your vote! His tongue went as fast as his car, when he wrecked it would stop wagging. Surely the Michael Jordan of R/C....

I want to see Zuback and Sully race side by side! In a cage!

What about Jamie Hanson how he raises his head when his car goes down the back stretch!

Then there is Eli who can stare at you while you are turn marshalling or watching the race, while he is running mod! Great thread Jenzo! All right Kenwood, you can prolly write 2 pages about me!

I can name a dozen people in the BRL that have some "different" driving styles. Those are a couple of my choices. I think Jamie wears contacts.

Jamie Hanson
02-03-2007, 02:17 AM
hahahahaha...... No contacts no glasses, just the way I drive I guess.
