my computer came with norton internet security 06, and my subsciption is expired, i am trying to decide if i should renew it. what other software is out there, what works good? is norton the best?

Nooooo, norton is not the best. It does its job well, but eats free memory.

Give One Care a try... they have a 90 day free trial. While a lot of people use some of the free scanners with success I've had some problems with previous versions.

thanks for info, i am thinking about the windows one care since i have two computers and it's good for up to three for the same price. i usually try to stay away from free software, because theres sometimes a reason its free.

AVG is good. That is what I use. It seems to work pretty well. It works just as well as norton.

Norton is an system - hogger.

I would highly advist avast. Avast is an great piece of software, and I get updates every day. It works like an charm. www.avast.com registration is free, no spam from them, and you have no trial period.
