ccm399 01-19-2007, 08:38 PM Ok, the announcement was made at the CRCRC race today so Dave Richmond (scrapheep) asked me to get a thread started. So here goes.
First the link:
http://stateseries.rcprosites.com/site/op/content/contentid/605
The full schedule will be up VERY soon.
I can tell you there will be 4 races in the series.
The first race will be in May, the second in June, the third in July.
The Finals will be held in August.
Second,
Dave Richmond is the go to man for this series, he is the offical Director for the Ohio State series. I am just helping him get the word out about the series. He is at the CRCRC race without access to the internet but wants to get the word out ASAP! He carefully planned the series dates (and RAIN dates) to NOT conflict with our Regional Pro Series races so racers can compete in both if they want to.
I am sure Dave will fill in more details as soon as he gets back from Columbus.
Chris
Thanks for posting. This race is going to be fun!
And its not going to be a tripple crown remake!
Hangtime 01-20-2007, 12:16 AM I clicked on the Ohio State sponsors & it comes up Oregon. The webmaster may want to check that. Thanks
ccm399 01-20-2007, 09:45 AM I noticed that as well. I am sure when he posts the schedule he will fix the incorrect links.
Thanks for the info.
Chris
one18thscalerac 01-20-2007, 05:44 PM will it be elec or nitro or both
ccm399 01-20-2007, 05:51 PM will it be elec or nitro or both
I am pretty positive all R/C Pro series summer races are Nitro only. They normally run electric in the winter.
Chris
clarkwhoracing 01-20-2007, 07:33 PM What a shame.....
ccm399 01-20-2007, 09:37 PM I copied the following from the R/C Pro website. This was posted by Dave Lovett
"RC Pro’s State Series purpose is for offering those states a series to promote racing locally. We want to bring big time racing to those racers that haven’t been to many big races. We are also looking to develop relationships with more tracks to be able to have more tracks to choose from for future division races. This series is a laid back series but still has the feel of any national event. We want the racers and tracks involved to enjoy themselves and want to help turn this into a great State series for all states involved.
The State Series for 2007 will be a 3 race series with a state final. Racers will score points in 2 of the 3 rounds and carry those points into the state finals. Points from those races will be added to the points from the finals (which will be x 1.5) to crown a state champion in 5 classes. The standard RC Pro points system will be used."
The classes are:
1/8 Scale Expert
1/8 Scale Sportsman
Gas Truck
Monster Truck
Arena Truck
R/C Pro runs their electric series races in the winter so they are going on as I type this. I believe the finals for our region is in May.
Chris
scrapheep 01-22-2007, 02:05 AM Big thanks to CCM for getting this thread started.
Welcome to the 2007 RC Pro Ohio State Series.
The schedule for this year will be...
Round 1... May 19 Medina RC Raceway http://www.medinarcraceway.com/
Round 2... June 23 Full Throttle RC http://www.fullthrottlercclub.com/
Round 3... July 21 CRCRC http://www.crcrc.com/
State Finals... August 18-19 Medina RC Raceway http://www.medinarcraceway.com/
All the information is located at http://stateseries.rcprosites.com/
The schedule is posted on the RC Pro website, and further information will be added soon.
The purpose of this series is to promote RC racing at the local level, and bring a BIG race atmosphere closer to home. The goal of this series is to be entertaining for the racers and also for the spectators.
The series races will conform to RC Pro Series rules http://nitrooffroad.rcprosites.com/site/op/content/contentid/236
The dates listed for the series will also provide for a warmup race 7 days prior to the race date, as well as a makeup date 7 days later in case of inclement weather.
I'm sure there will be a lot of questions... so feel free to ask away
ToNyyyyy 01-22-2007, 07:19 AM The sponsored guys are in the expert class ?
ccm399 01-22-2007, 07:28 AM Tony you can run whatever class you want. UNLESS you have a chassis sponsor. (and maybe an engine sponsor)
Run with the big boys!!!
scrapheep 01-22-2007, 08:24 AM Porkchop...there is no series fee, and you dont have to be an RC Pro member to race the state series...so RC Pro numbers dont apply.
Entry fees are set according to RC Pro Series as follows;
Points races $25 per 1st entry $20 per additional entry.
State Finals $35 per 1st entry $25 per additional entry.
Tony... yes, any sponsored driver will have to run in the expert class, but you dont have to be sponsored to be eligeble for the expert class.
scrapheep 01-22-2007, 08:39 AM will it be elec or nitro or both
This will be nitro only and the classes are ;
1/8 scale expert
1/8 scale intermediate
Arena truck (truggy)
Production monster truck
1/10 scale gas truck
david18t 01-22-2007, 10:15 AM if you become an rc pro series member do these points allow you to accumulate points for the regional series?
ccm399 01-22-2007, 10:19 AM No, you would have to attend the regional races if you want to score points for the national finals. You can run both series races with no problem though.
scrapheep 01-22-2007, 10:52 PM if you become an rc pro series member do these points allow you to accumulate points for the regional series?
No, you would have to attend the regional races if you want to score points for the national finals. You can run both series races with no problem though.
Good questions get good answers
I should add that RC Pro would like all racers to declare thier region, regardless of RC Pro membership status, as a sort of census to help determine the activity level in any given region...translation; helps us get regional races closer to home.

scrapheep,
i noticed that you did not have a schedule for intermidiate truggy class. If the state series is going to fallow the nationals, then this class should be offered. If this class is not offered, will it affect the class we can run at the nationals, seeing how you can not run the intermidiate class if you ran an expert class in a pro-series race.
ccm399 02-16-2007, 09:26 PM If you look over the the State series stuff on www.rcprosites.com (http://www.rcprosites.com/) it does not look like any of the state's have an Int. Arena Truck class.
I don't believe that the state series races have any impact on the regional level races. But Dave will no doubt clear it up for us.
I HOPE they don't add a sportsman truggy class....The additional time added to the race day could become troublesome. I wouldn't mind if they decided not to run sportsman 1/8 scale either. Don't get me wrong, I understand the idea behind the sportsman class but as a race director I have to look at the other side of the coin as well. The extra class adds about 1 hour to the raceday. So for 2 sportsman classes that is 2+ hours of extra time to run the same number of racers through!
Chris
scrapheep 02-17-2007, 07:59 AM Correct Chris, the state series has no impact on regional classes or points, however if a racer enters a regional in an expert/open class...they wont be eligeble for intermidiate classes at the state level.
Ruben, there is no intermidiate arena truck class offered due to the length of the program. The points races are all one day events, and figuring 3 heats in 5 classes plus the mains equals a 10+ hour race day...not counting practice.
RC Pro gives me the latitude to axe, or add a class based on participation, but it also affects the points tables based on 10 or 12 car heats and mains.
Just like any club race, there will have to be enough entries to warrant having an extra class,(ie; intermidiate 1/8 scale), we will need a minimum 10 entries to run the class.
ccm399 02-17-2007, 08:40 AM Dave, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought we were running the 12 car points program.....so wouldn't we need 12 entries for a class?
Chris
scrapheep 02-17-2007, 02:55 PM Right Chris... I forgot we had discussed that...I have to review my notes more often before I post...LOL.
12 car points system means we need 12 entries to run intermidiate 1/8 scale, all other classes will run the 12 car ponts system regardless of entries.
ccm399 02-17-2007, 08:10 PM No problem Dave.....I am sure you have a ton of things to keep straight!!! Glad I could help.
Thanks for clearing up the state/regional thing. I should have gone the other way like you did and explained if you run Expert at the regional you HAVE to run Expert at the state level.
Thanks again,
Chris
ccm399 02-25-2007, 10:26 PM I've been getting a pretty good amount of questions about the Pro Series from our website.
