I'm suprised at how many people do not know about this event, I mentioned it this past weekend to a few people who said "what race???" Well, I filled them in and hopefully they'll attend too  .

See you in 8 weeks.

This may sound like a silly question...but I have heard many rumors of crossing the Canadian border. I have a traditional International Passport...is this acceptable?

Rusty22
02-20-2007, 03:20 PM
it should be. bring your birth certificate and some photo id also. it will all help. what way will you be coming up because the border where i live (between cornwall, ontario and akwesasne ((hogansburg)) new york) the border is kind of laxed i find. but any id will help

Haven't mapped it out yet, but I believe most guys from this area take 87 all the way up. Thanks for the info.

Passports are not too much of an issue yet for those travelling by ground. A passort would be your best bet, but any form of picture ID will do this year. I would also recommend bringing a photocopy of the race flyer with you.

I travel the US/Canadian border every week and try to bring as much info as possible as to where I am racing.

Hey Jason...no need for a passport yet(2008 yes...)by plane you do need one...but not trough borders(road)..a birth certificate and id with pix is all you need...go 87 north...then after the borders...87 is 15...keep on 15...then 15 change name to 132...keep on ...the take 25 north(tunnel LH-Lafontaine)...approx 5 miles..take 40 east....approx 10 miles...then after the bridge over river...its 640 west...5 miles...then 25 north again...for approx 15 miles...go over mapquest for the extra from 25 north...track is somtin like 3 miles from 25...

see ya

Hey Eric (or Steve): What are the rulings, if any, on taking rental cars across the border? I visit NE for work at times, and would just assume make the drive up there in a rental instead of doing the extra flight... Any suggestions here?

A couple of months back I hit a deer and smashed up my car, in the mean time I had a rental van from budget rental and we crossed to race in canada without any problems, just make sure you have you rental paperwork with you

So how many people were in 19t and open mod last year? Not really interested in traveling 1000 miles to go SLOW!What happened to 6cell stock? Though I'm always up for a roadtrip,Are the pre-entries posted anywhere? With all due respect are we over a 100 yet ? How bout a rolecall! 10 years ago we had 400 racers at 5 to 6 different races.WE need better turnouts ,and I don't know how we are going to get back to that time.Mabee if we had a thread that we spent less time bickering on and more on how to get and keep new racers racing we wouldn't be having these problems! My first suggestion is get the factory guys OUT of 'stock'. Hows a newby supposed to stay interested when he cant get within 4 laps of the leaders in the slowest pancar class!! thats no fun. What do you propose we do no wonder we can't keep new guys. maybee 6 cells for factory,4 cells for the learners. Come on guys 19t is no more expensive than stock, lets leave some room for growth. just a thought troy

my personal opinion is i think stock is harder for the fact you need to be perfect.setup, gearing and most importantly driving.like restricter racing lol if you make a mistake in stock you can easily lose. just my 13 cents!

19t is glorified stock all the above is just as important, but the cars are faster and you occasionally have to use the trigger finger making driving a bigger factor, not the opposite. I believe the spread from 1st to 9th in stock and expert 19 was pretty close at the birds .Point being majority of those guy s should move up and let some new blood make the show instead of the same ringers year after year after year.....

There is a seperate class for novice racers that uses a 540 motor.
This race usually sells out, I think about 95 racers (however many pit spots are available). Might not be the biggest race of the year but I would agree, it's one of the best. The track and facility are top notch.

Troy you realize stock is the biggest and most competitive class at any race
