I think this looks a little better...

although I realized while I was working on it that it's really sad to be investing this much time and effort in a Chevette. :D

the wheels are off a random cheap dollar-store car. I had to shorten the axles; you can see on the driver's side the ends are just twisted around to hold the wheels on. I know it's a step backwards to lose the rubber tires for plastic ones, but the size is just so much better. I jammed a really thin piece of wire into the bottom of the axle slot in the chassis, and I trimmed the little plastic nubs that hold the axle down in that slot, and voila--she sits level.

I too took some cheap plasitc wheels and replaced the rubber ones on a couple of chevettes that I have. They look alot better with cheaps wheels.

Is that a metal base on the Chevette? The ones from the other motormax series are not metal.

that looks super, its great that these things arent riveted but scrwed which makes wheel swaps easy.

I just posted on another thread about how I hated the stance on that casting. Your version is far better, and I like the wheels better even if they're not rubber. Great job!
