View Full Version : Victory Hobbies 2007
Just thought I would start a new thread for the year 2007.
We are looking forward of having a great second year. New items in the shop every week and racing is in full swing with all 3 forms. Both the Carpet and dirt oval racing are going well, as is the Road Course. We will begin work on the off-road track in early spring. With the interest in dirt oval rising weach week. We will be converting the Off-Road to Dirt oval for the summer. Victory will be running both nitro and Electric outdoors on the lighted track.
On the 27th of Jan the Wis Touring Car Series will be making there stop at Victory and it should prove to be a good race as points tighten up as the season come to a close.
Feb 3rd Victory will be hoist to the "Ground Hog Dirt Day" on the dirt oval. There will be many classes and a portion of the enteries will go back to the A-main drivers. Bump-up will be done for all lower mains to give all a chance at some cash.
Feb 24th at Victory will be the ROAR Reg 5 Carpet oval champs. It's going to be fininshed in one day. Entry fee ( if you are a ROAR) Member will be $5.00 and non members will be $20.00 for the first class (single event membership included at $15.00) and every class after will be $5.00.

Brian F 03-12-2007, 12:21 AM Victory Rc Hobbies will be running Carpet Oval on Friday 3/23/07 instead of Thursday that week. The track will be configured to match the layout at Allen's RC home of the BRL Finals at the end of the month. Doors will be open at 10AM and racing will be at 7PM that evening. Any and all oval racers are invited as we will run brushed and brushless classes.
The switch to Friday should allow some racers to travel for some good oval racing. Sully keeps asking us to run on a Friday.... here's your chance Sully!
Later! Brian
I'll put $5.00 on too little, too late.... Too bad, so sad....
Brian F 03-18-2007, 09:13 PM Carpet Oval Friday night this week! The doors will be open at 9AM and racing at 7PM. I got Ed on hand to run the show and the track will be shortened to match the set-up for the BRL Finals. 13.5, 4300, Open and brushed stock and 19-turn.

Brian F 04-28-2007, 07:21 PM Just a note... We plan on running carpet oval all summer on Thursday nights at 7PM at Victory R/C. There has been some 6-cell stock Touring Oval to go along with 13.5 brushless and an appearance of the Stampedes from time to time.
Also... we have Bolink Legends and all the parts and bodies in stock. In this class we are running any 4-cell battery pack with a Tamya connector and the Traxxas Stinger motors. Monday: INDOOR Dirt Oval. Hobby shop and track open at 3PM, racing at 7PM. 18th and 10th scale electric classes. (This is just too popular to change so we will be running the indoor track all summer.)

Thursday: Carpet Oval. Hobby shop and track open at 3PM, racing at 7PM.

Brian F 05-23-2007, 10:55 PM Thanks to all the racers that came out last night to run the outdoor dirt oval. The free race night was great as it helped us work out the bugs and get ready for the outdoor season of nitro and electric dirt oval. This should be fun this summer! The touring car late models are working great! Revo's, a nitro sprinter, nitro and electric trucks, bombers... it was a good night!
Thursday night carpet oval will continue this Thursday night!
Brian
Brian F 05-27-2007, 10:45 AM Just a reminder that Victory will be running dirt oval OUTDOORS on Tuesday nights through the summer. We thought that there may be some racers that would want to stay on the indoor dirt oval on Monday nights. But when the outdoor track smoothed out so well that the electric classes could all run (Latemodels, bombers, trucks...) along with all the nitro classes everyone decided to run on Tuesday's outdoors. Doors and track open at 3PM, racing under the lights at 7PM!
The GT2 is getting close!!!
Brian
Brian F 06-09-2007, 08:13 PM Looks like the weather will be great for the outdoor dirt oval this week! Ten days of dry sunny weather is what the weatherman says. Hock was going out today to spread the remaining water to help the drying process.
I get to come home from Chicago Monday... can't wait!
See you all this week!
Brian

burbs 06-16-2007, 08:19 AM How big is the outdoor track??? Also is it flat or banked, and how much.banking.. also what kind of surface.. is it regular dirt, or hard packed clay.. Or could you post some pics or send me some... Also how is the count for the 4wd latemodel class... I might be running at trackside, but would like to come up and try the outdoor track.. I'm going to be having back surgery as soon as work comp ok's it, but i want to get some do racing in before the cut.. thanks
Boxerking1977@yahoo.com
Slight banking on one side flat on the other with hard packed clay. The track makes a little dust so on the vehicles I think they have been using mini type pins. We are going to put calcium on the track this tuesday to hold in more moisture. We have a thread on dirt oval .com
Dirt oval link (http://dirtoval.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20514&page=3)
Brian F 06-20-2007, 11:13 PM The weather report looks great for the first round of the 'King of the Ring' dirt oval series on the outdoor dirt oval this coming Saturday! Mostly sunny and 84 degrees! Great nitro oval racing weather! Electric too!

Brian F 06-22-2007, 11:36 PM Hey Corey... Mr M had that 'flexi-flier' pretty hooked last night! 3.7's, 3.8's... sigh...
Well... eveything is set for the first leg of the 'King of the Ring' cash-points series on the outdoor dirt oval tomorrow. The calcium seems to be working pretty well at keeping the track moist.

We are starting so early this year due to the kids being invited to play at the Packers family night. I will be helping the teams get stuff together and helping them with there practices. Then my team will be starting, not to mention helping out one of the local high school teams. I'll be stopping tin the shop form time to time to check on things

Hays Jr 08-10-2007, 11:08 PM And I thought "practice" was for amateurs!!!
Practice is for amateurs only after your car is dialed in lol.
Mr Makus, I hear the track should be well worn in from the summer? lol
Brian F 08-18-2007, 11:48 PM A BIG thanks to everyone who made the race series. We were a bit apperehensive about changing the outdoor track from off-road to dirt oval but just part way through the season we knew we made the right choice!
We plan to do some work on the track this fall after the outdoor season is complete. We want to bring in more dirt to bank the track more and make the drainage better. Remove the inside piping to make it easier to see your car/truck in the corners and just make it an even better race track. Special thanks to Mark V. for making us a new drag that works GREAT!
Here's King of the Ring and 2nd & 3rd for each class of the First Annual King of the Ring Points Series I've posted some pics to go along with the honors.
