View Full Version : ProMatch Batteries 2007 Thread 2Groovy4U 01-15-2007, 09:31 AM ProMatch tq and win @ RCSM in Phx, AZ yesterday in 4300 BL. Thanks to Erika, Jeff for some great cells and great suport!!! wade 01-15-2007, 11:17 AM Did you use the new East Power (EP) cells?? Fireball929 01-15-2007, 04:44 PM I'm still using packs that I bought in october and run weekly on them. They are still great packs. I can't wait to get a couple more for the rest of the season. Thanks, Fireball wade 01-15-2007, 06:06 PM Has anyone tried the new cells?? Comments? 2Groovy4U 01-15-2007, 08:39 PM Wade, no I was running WC cells. I talked to Jeff and he said #'s were a bit lower but the cells were great! If you don't maintain your cells very well he said the are the cell for you. I guess they take the abuse like old nicads did. but with ton more run time/voltage LOL totalrc 01-23-2007, 10:08 PM Got my new cells today. Can't wait to try them at the birds in a couple of weeks. Lee killerkoncepts 02-14-2007, 10:30 AM Thanks to Jeff and Erika for the great batteries! made all 3 A mains at the birds! Cells worked great all weekend without 1 problem! jody miller wade 02-14-2007, 10:34 AM Jody East Power (EP) Cells ?? killerkoncepts 02-14-2007, 10:47 AM Nah they were the WC cells..i have a pack of EP's to test..i ran them in practice and ran the same times as WC cells.. PMRGirl 02-15-2007, 01:21 PM The EP Cells have been coming out very similar to the IB's. The average voltage out of the EP's is a 1.23 as is with the IB's lately. The EP's have come really far and are proving to be a strong performing cell. I hope to have them back in stock next week so that you guys can start getting them and using them. Since this is my first post on here you guys are going to have to fill me in on all your usernames!! Jody I got you figured out but the rest of you need to help me out!! Promatchracer 02-17-2007, 02:43 AM Welcome to Hobby Talk Erica I think you can figure me out I am the same on everything I do on the Net Even my poker is the same again Nice to have you here with us 2Groovy4U 02-17-2007, 02:49 AM Hey Erika glad to see you finally joined us. 2GROOVY4U = Raymond McCoy Thanks for the great cells for the Bird's!!! Fireball929 02-18-2007, 09:32 AM Hi Erika, Good to see you made it onto the site. I ran a brand new EP cell last night right out of the box and it was pretty good. The pack was 1.236 w/450 run time I think. IR are a little high 1.6-1.7. I hope to get a couple more when they come in. See ya, Fireball AKA Kenny Roberts 2Groovy4U 02-18-2007, 11:09 AM Pro-match WC 4200's TQ, set new track record and win in 4300 BL last nite @ RCSM in Phx, AZ. Thanks to Jeff and Erika for the great cells! PMRGirl 02-21-2007, 12:07 PM Cool, thanks guys!! Wade- thanks for the "invite" keep in touch!! 2Groovy4U- Congrats on the new track record, you had some pretty good company right on your tail....... fireball- yes, IR's a tad bit higher but we have been seeing them come down a bit. promatchracer- consistent on the name....thanks that made it easy for me. How's your little guy? Promatchracer 02-21-2007, 12:35 PM Little guy is doing good I am planningh on coming out in march of 2008 to see you guys Taking the wife to Vegas for our 10 year anniversary so I will stop by Later OvalTrucker 02-23-2007, 11:30 PM Pro Match has accquired FUSION! How cool is that Casey? Erika, I've sent you an email. Casey, you have a PM. Incidentally, I have been using the EP4200's from FUSION for a few months with good results. They do have a high self-discharge rate. If you race every week I don't think you have to worry much. If you are gonna park it for a couple weeks better charge 'em. Promatchracer 02-24-2007, 02:25 AM Hey Scott got the Pm Might see you at MP Promatchracer 02-27-2007, 02:18 AM Promatch Wins 13.5 Class in the 1St Annual BRAGGIN RIGHTS Race in ST Igance MI and it was almost a year old pack too LARCGuy 02-27-2007, 05:00 AM What's the required battery maintenance for the EP4200's? Are they as finicky as the IB's? OvalTrucker 03-04-2007, 11:03 PM The biggest thing I have been doing is making sure they don't sit long without checking them. They self-discharge rather quickly. Other than that: I discharge them to 1.0volts and then straight to the charger at 6 amps. If I race the same pack again that day I make sure it is totally cooled off and then charge it again. If you are going to race within a week let it go with what charge was left in it after you race it. If it is going to be a couple weeks, I put a full charge on it. wade 03-05-2007, 12:24 AM OvalTrucker what class are you running the EP's in?? Happy with them?? LARCGuy 03-05-2007, 03:21 AM I ran a pack of EP's in my 3.5 car today. They ran full throttle until they were dumped then they stopped. I have never seen a pack just be "done" that quick without any trailing off. Just full juice, then bang!, nothing. Pretty cool. OvalTrucker 03-05-2007, 08:47 AM OvalTrucker what class are you running the EP's in?? Happy with them?? I race 13.5 pancar. Yes I'm happy with them. They seem to have really good punch from beginning to end, even in a 5 minute race. RCRacer00 03-12-2007, 02:31 PM Move this up front!!!!!!!!! Ralf 03-14-2007, 02:38 PM I am getting back into oval racing after being away from R/C/ for over three years. I just bought some Pro-Match matched packs and was putting them into some older Pro-Match "Smart Tray 2 X 4's that I had. On one of the trays all 7 green lamps light when I tighten the screws down onto the batteries, but the other two trays only light a single green lamp in the center of the tray on the side where the srewa are mounted. Do I have one good tray and two bad ones? Where can I get them repaired. Thanks Ralf jmcdo28 03-17-2007, 02:17 PM when should the 1.23 430+ ep packs be out, im waiting to see them on the website. should i just call? i dont buy batts often so when i buy i try to buy the best. last batts i bought were promatch 3800s and they were great! thanks john mc 2Groovy4U 03-17-2007, 05:52 PM jmcdo28, Give Erika @ ProMatch a call.
