Did you use the new East Power (EP) cells??

I'm still using packs that I bought in october and run weekly on them. They are still great packs. I can't wait to get a couple more for the rest of the season.

Wade, no I was running WC cells. I talked to Jeff and he said #'s were a bit lower but the cells were great! If you don't maintain your cells very well he said the are the cell for you. I guess they take the abuse like old nicads did. but with ton more run time/voltage LOL

Got my new cells today. Can't wait to try them at the birds in a couple of weeks.

Nah they were the WC cells..i have a pack of EP's to test..i ran them in practice and ran the same times as WC cells..

The EP Cells have been coming out very similar to the IB's. The average voltage out of the EP's is a 1.23 as is with the IB's lately. The EP's have come really far and are proving to be a strong performing cell. I hope to have them back in stock next week so that you guys can start getting them and using them.

Since this is my first post on here you guys are going to have to fill me in on all your usernames!! Jody I got you figured out but the rest of you need to help me out!!

Hi Erika, Good to see you made it onto the site.
I ran a brand new EP cell last night right out of the box and it was pretty good. The pack was 1.236 w/450 run time I think. IR are a little high 1.6-1.7. I hope to get a couple more when they come in.

Incidentally, I have been using the EP4200's from FUSION for a few months with good results. They do have a high self-discharge rate. If you race every week I don't think you have to worry much. If you are gonna park it for a couple weeks better charge 'em.

What's the required battery maintenance for the EP4200's? Are they as finicky as the IB's?

The biggest thing I have been doing is making sure they don't sit long without checking them. They self-discharge rather quickly.
Other than that:

I discharge them to 1.0volts and then straight to the charger at 6 amps.
If I race the same pack again that day I make sure it is totally cooled off and then charge it again.

If you are going to race within a week let it go with what charge was left in it after you race it. If it is going to be a couple weeks, I put a full charge on it.

I ran a pack of EP's in my 3.5 car today. They ran full throttle until they were dumped then they stopped. I have never seen a pack just be "done" that quick without any trailing off. Just full juice, then bang!, nothing. Pretty cool.

Yes I'm happy with them. They seem to have really good punch from beginning to end, even in a 5 minute race.:thumbsup:

I am getting back into oval racing after being away from R/C/ for over three years. I just bought some Pro-Match matched packs and was putting them into some older Pro-Match "Smart Tray 2 X 4's that I had. On one of the trays all 7 green lamps light when I tighten the screws down onto the batteries, but the other two trays only light a single green lamp in the center of the tray on the side where the srewa are mounted. Do I have one good tray and two bad ones? Where can I get them repaired. Thanks Ralf

when should the 1.23 430+ ep packs be out, im waiting to see them on the website. should i just call? i dont buy batts often so when i buy i try to buy the best. last batts i bought were promatch 3800s and they were great!

Give Erika @ ProMatch a call. Sometimes they don't get the website updated as soon as batteries are in. The EP cells are great so you will be very happy with 1.23+ 430+ cells!

Just wanted to say thanks to Erica and the crew at Promatch. I put in a order for some batteries, they had just what i was looking for and when i recieved the order faster than expected there was a lil more to my order than expected. it's always nice to find extras in the package. thanks agian erica. 2 new track rocords with the EP cells. One at JSMR in PLattsburgh NY record was 92 5.00 went to 94 5.02 in 12th scale.
1 at BArre VT 12th scale 19turn, 79 4.01 to a 80 4.01.
The new cells seem to work very well. I tried them in my 10th scale and did very well also.

I'm proud to say that I've won the 2007 Oval Season Championship in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Running my EP4200 cells in the 1/10 scale 13.5 brushless class.
