Does anyone here collect 1/87 wiking models and or the other brands of 1/87 scale models from Europe.
I hope this scale/type of model will fit on the European diescast page :p

I use to buy them when I lived in Germany, but I don't have many left. My dad has some stashed in his attic somewhere though.

I used to have some too, but made some too radical customs from them... :p
I LOVE these cars though, as they are greatly detailed for 1/64 scale, especially Wiking, Herpa and some others. Too bad, that the prices are so high...

I have some...Wiking, Herpa, Brekina...all VW's. I've also been buying the 1:87 VW's being found at WalMart.

I'm raised in a 1/87 environment, as my dad is a very enthousiastic train collector.
I got Wiking cars for my birthdays when I was a kid and I still have 'em all!

When time permits, I'll take some pics of the nicer ones...

It would be nice if Giovanni or Carney would make 1/87 cases. They make them for the 1/87 tractor trailers but I like the idea of seperate spaces.

I have some VWs (Like someone else posting here) Someday we gotta get you over to see them.

I have about 100 of them that I collected from 1980 through about 1990. Those and some Herpas...but they're all packed away. I loved the cars and trucks...but man were they expensive back them.

I have a handfull of them that I picked up for my train layout, as well as a few other brands. As Roy mentioned, they were not cheap. When Classic Metal Works came out with their Mini-Metals line, I started buying them instead. All die-cast, and half the price.

I have just one set of VWs called the 50 Millionen Set from Wiking, but 1/87 are not my main focus of collecting although I love the VWs. There's just about every type VW represented in it.
