Ive seen some racers remove the capacitor from their GTX's in oval racing. Is it dead weight in Stock oval racing where your not on and off the throttle and brakes. Any help and and all opinions would be apriciated. Thanks.

Opinion only, no masters in electronic engineering input at all.

I asked the fastest guy at our track, who does not run one on his,
about it, he said it was "dead weight" in oval..
I took mine off and noticed absolutely no difference at all.
I was exactly the same slowness with or without!! :drunk:

Seriously... I saw no difference in laptimes or feel...

The cap does two things.
First, it turns the FETs gates on faster.
Secound, it keeps the FETs cooler when running mod motors with
larger amp draw.

For oval stock racing wouldn't make a difference, just adds weight to your car.

In modified class I've seen team guys run bigger caps to keep from blowing up
there speed controller.
