Anniversary Race Details will be out shortly...so far I will tell you it will not be a handout race,....thus it will be affordable....
We have to have a new twist for it....being that its a new event...so I have some ideas up my sleeve...let me get some things priced out and I will post details asap!

How bout a "big" race on a Saturday night in Febuary to kind of fill the void? Just an idea.

For starters lets get that magazine article written that I was talking about. Then how about a webcam feed. Maybe get the local chamber of commerce to do something since you're a small business that has survived for 18 years. Ask Mark Arrute if he wants to sponsor a race to bring the real SK guys in to run a exhibition RC race. If you do that some of the local business' might throw something into the kitty. Talk to the local radio stations too. They often do live remotes from business'. Some do it for a stipend and some charge a lot more. Have some good food BBQ. Advertise as a chicken BBQ so that it is more than just a race. I know a good cover band that could play downstairs for the after-party later on. Have raffle we could raffle some cars and parts and/or have an RC swap meet etc. Have a "Hot Lap" qualifying contest, pay a small fee (like $3.00) for a turn at it, you get to run 3 hot laps, and the fastest guy gets 75% of the cash. No limit to how many times you go out there to try. Have 2 classes 19T and stock.
Obviously this is just an "off the top of my head throw out some ideas type of think out of the box suggestions"
It's probablly more than $0.02 worth, more like $0.25 :-)

First....we have the 1st of the month Sat night racing - if anyone is in??

But I also thought it might be a nice change to have a race for all the SK's just to see whats out - and whats really great - with all this "hype" about the new cars...I dont know just a thought. It doesnt have to be a big deal; just a $15 race....

We can def pull together a race in Feb...just wont have alot of the freebies like the past ones...but hey - it can be done....any dates in mind?

Thanks good looking out Mike! Well with the problems weve had here, I dont know if we will get to see any of them! First I get here and my gram is in ICU (she's REALLY not doing well) then my mom flew in (she lives in the Bahamas but came here to see us) and now she is facing heart surger THIS WEEK (we have a heart condition which you can now have surgery for.....) on top of that ...Ive been sick the ENTIRE time, Jack too (and Julia got sick last night and has had a temp of 103-104...with all sorts of cold problems and even vomitting last night)...so this trip has been a NIGHTMARE, sadly. I may be sending Chad home with Jack alone tomorrow... and I may stay with Julia to help the family and be by the ones who need me...
ughhhhh!
I hope you all are doing much better than me!

Lots of good ideas here... What about an all out "insane speed run" 2 classes, pan car and s/k. Rules could be something like this:
S/K class must run s/k chassis and body.
Pan car must run pan chassis and nascar body.
Something like what they do at the velodromes. I think it could be incorperated into a regular racing program. Maybe as a filler between the heats??

There is not time for cookies at the track if you want to be fast your going to have to work on your car. the cookie crums will only make you slower.

Okay so Chad and I were thinking......although we really want to kick of this years anniversary race with a BANG......we are faced with a situation...

WE REALLY WANT TO GO TO O-H-I-O's 2007 ARCOR Carpet Open - Classic Hobbies!!!!!!

We thought about taking Team K&N - as a whole...... or moving the anniversary date; or even just got us all out of there early so we can go....either way.....we need to know what you all think.

You all know I am the LAST person to want to change a date; but the ARCOR date was announced recently - after our dates and that is one event we would like to attend......and I know MANNNNNNY others who plan to attend as well; which would change our attendance numbers as well.

SO do we organize a ROAD TRIP with Team K&N?????????

Do we keep the date???

Talk to me!

Mike

Mike, to follow up your call and this message.....I have detailed answers.

FIRST: Track records are ONLY awarded when there are AT LEAST 4 racers.....in response to your question on the phone - I believe only 3 were present at the 19T race you were questioning (in which a NON fixed timing was used) if I am wrong...let me know.

Next, The house rule is 19T FIXED timing, such as the KAMODO. Meaning you can RUN whatever you want - for fun, but if you want your race to count, come with a FIXED timing!

Lastly, K&N will be open at 5pm tomorrow, 12noon Saturday (and we can race Sat night if you want) and at 9am on Sunday....

See ya then pumpkin! LOL
