When I was about 15 I got this tyco brown blazer, still love it, but the other day I found this little micro machine blazer and hmmmmm, weird, made by different companies and made oh, about 20 years apart?

Looks like the micro machines company did some R & D to get their blazer to look just right........

R & D = Rob and Duplicate.....

Ed - That Tyco Blazer was originally a Shrinky Dink concept. You put it in the oven and it shrinks to a Micro Machine.

I've modified a few micro machines to run on HO track. They're really pretty weird little cars... like little baby gplus cars .

All you have to is widen the pick ups. I just solidered tyco wiper blades on top of the original pick ups and they ran great

A while back, Boss9 posted a pic of a purple Tyco "venom" 57 chev with the green scaley tampos. Next to it was an odd hummer (matchbox?) diecast with the same tampo turned 90 degrees. Companies "borrow" from eachother or use the same concept or graphics companies all of the time, yeah?

It is odd for sure, these 2 examples, but I get a feeling that someone was feeling nostalgic in their artwork. This may have been the work of the same concept artist. The fact that it is 20 years later makes it even more likely. The artist worked for Tyco and simply found a new employer. Who is there at "Tyco" to scream "copyright-infringement" or some such thing? Did the artist keep it to himself and is enjoying a fine private joke, imagining the few who will spot the doplegangers? Were it me, I don't think I could resist such a prank myself! "Yes, Mr Supervisor, I slaved away ALL week to get the new MM Blazer to look Juuuuust right! Mind you, I completed it 3 days early so I get the double bonus, right?!

Blast from the past! It's cool to see old liveries come back time and time again.
