Another day of deciding on what to open up. Ok, Jada buses it will be, so here's my current collection. Hope you enjoy:

Temporarily in the bottom of my BwF case, until I open up some other Jada's or get a seperate case for these.

Hard to tell, but that black looking one is the chrome version.

I think I'm missing 2 buses, the one in the Snap Shots set and the one in the 5 pack. If anyone has one available for sale, please lmk.

Nice. So far I have one of each Jada bus version (pickup, samba and panel truck).

Better looking than the HW Drag Bus, and much easier to collect. Still, I'm doing my best to avoid getting any of these except for the chrome one. I like shiney things... :p

Collectible Diecasts still has the Snap Shot diorama for sale. I have not seen the 5 pack set version.

Nice display of bug vans.

Neat!

Yup, I had almost every HW Drag Bus at one time, including a real X-Mas one. It all started when I happened upon 2 96 1st Ed Drag Buses at a Walgreen's in mid 1997. This was long after they were already impossible to find.

From then on I tried to buy multiples of every one Mattel made. I scored the Employee X-Mas bus from a guy I met on the old TREASUREHUNTALLEY.COM by trading him a 95 TH Nomad and Cobra a JL WL Christine and a boat load of cash. (Thanks Rick!) I got multiples of the Malleco Bus from Steve Malleco himself. I ate fish-sticks for a month so I could get multiples of the the VDK bus, which in turn I sold to pay for a few Thunderbird Buses (I think they were TBirds, might have been Golden Knights). I believe I had 29 of the Anniversary Drag Buses too. KB Toys had a 2 for $5 sale on select HWs and JLs, it was crazy, there were a bunch of WLs showing up during that period!

At some point the really limited versions of the HW Drag bus were just too expensive, or dang near impossible to score 1 of, let alone 2, and some were just plain ugly. At the same time older decos like the JCW or HW.Com II were losing their values.

You get the point. Then in 2002 or 03 I quit collecting HWs almost entirely, same with JLs. (I had most of the JL 60s VW Vans but only the ones I liked. I hated the Surf Rods, yet I still had the Dans Diecast "hippie" Vans, including the 21 window versions). I sold almost everything I had aside from 95 THs and certain JL WLs... then I took the money and proceeded to buy more stuff I didnt really need. :p

Remember when a JCW Bus was worth $150? Or when the Blue Angels Bus was going for $60 - $100? Ah the 90s... I didnt do so well when I sold them in the 00s. :( Oh well. Still, thats quite a nice collection you got there. Thumbs up!

EDIT: BTW, That recessed display with the VW Drags is sweeeeeeeeet!
