Thanks for the heads up, I was able to grab one of each car,the green pinto, green pacer, blue gremlin and red escort. Strangely enough there weren't too many of these left,I had to search behind stuff on the same shelf before I found the pinto wagon, and it was the only one.

They must of just come out . I found 2 Pintos (brown & green) & 2 Escorts ( Red & white) at one store , and saw 1 gremlin , Pacer , & Escort at another WM .. Selling fast - Train guys will love em' ... Why they did a '81 Escort is beyond me ... Id much rather see the '86-'87 GT versions or EXP . They are much better looking & better quality cars . I owned a few real ones ...
Next , I hope is the '77 or 78 Pinto Cruising wagon that was silver with custom stripes in yellow , orange & black . They were neat !

Dear All:

As I hear, the Railroad Modelers are getting good amounts of these cars. And in June 2007 they will have a new sedan (from Atlas, the Train Manufacturer) coming at the same scale:Ford Fairmont 1978.All these are very suitable for their train racks and streets of ther layouts.

I found the red gremlin, yellow pacer & white escort (left that one, bad memories!), the detail on these is incredible. I also read about a vega on the HWC boards. I had a blue pinto wagon- great car- so i hope they do one in blue! and of course i hope to find all the others..

Any chance of the escort being produced in 1/64 scale any time soon by motormax?

Dear All:

Besides the AMC's,Pinto and Escort, there is a Ford Tempo 1984 and a Mercury Bobcat (the Mercury version of the Pinto) 1979 avaliable in 1/87 scale.Later this year, the Maverick will debut plus other three new models.

I am not sure if others noticed this, but the metallic colors tend to be rarer than the glossy colors. For every 2 white escorts in a case there is only 1 red one and so on. The pintos are the only one with both in metallic colors and the brown one looks to be the rarer one. Can't wait til more of these come out!

My local retailer just got in one of the new cases with the Bobcats and Tempos. It has the same two Pacers, Gremlins, and Escorts, but no Pinto Wagons :( The glossy are in the same quantity as the metallics this time..

One of my local WM just now got these in. Although they had all the colors of these models, I only picked up one of each model. I don't need to start collecting all variations of these little 1/87 cars too, I have enough other series' and scales to keep me busy. But these cars are nice! Good detail for such a small car.

THANK YOU MOTORMAX!!! Incredible!! An AWESOME choice! Keep them hits a' coming!

If I may ask, please put the Pinto wagons back into your dealer assortments. Also, more Bobcats and Hondas/Toyotas/Nissans please! Your Pintos and Bobcats are my favorites. It would be great to see a Pinto runabout liftback in 1/87th! or.. a Datsun 510 sedan!

Cheers,
Harry

You seem to have insider info. Can you say if the Fiero rumors are true?

Dear Mark:

As far as I heard, the Fiero is just that at the moment: a rumour, albeit even the generation of it is being looked upon.If I know Motormax well, the may do the final one, because that been overlooked by most modelers.

No inside info.I just 'float' on 4 forums........

Those 1/87 are really nice. And you are right, the train guys will pick these up. I got a white Escort, blue Gremlin, and a green Pacer last night for my trains. Going to get more. They probably did the '81 Escort cause that was the first year for it. I do 1/64 and 1/24 so these will be strictly for the trains.
These are my first FCs. These are so much cheaper than if they were packaged for the trains. In a Model Power or Life Like package they are around $5.00.

I'm new to this forum so I have a question about the Fresh Cherries. Does anybody know if more than 2 colors per vehicle will be done in HO scale? Motormax, if you're listening, please offer 4-5 colors per car and I'll get every one. One color I don't think looks right in the Cherries line is black. More earth tones please like beige, tan, cream and brown.

Dear Vito:

The 1/60 scaled Fresh Cherries are offered on a variety of colors;the 1/87 Escort is red or white-colored;the Mercury Bobcat comes in Brown and red. So,these will be offered on a variety of collors.

Hi all: I am a newbie here; but, I have been on other model car lists for awhile. I come from a model railroading background; but, after the 100th locomotive, and 500th piece of rolling stock (I've been at it for a few decades) I found it was time to start buying the details and other expensive accessories so long put off. So, lately I have been buying people, lights, lots of buildings, etc.

The Fresh Cherries line in 1/87 is the most welcome thing in years. For one thing they are common everyday cars (not 1/2million dollar exotics) and the AMC ones have just been very hard to find in any scale much less HO. I am grabbing them as fast as I can find them to fill up my streets and parking lots.

The 4 new ones some have mentioned will be most welcome, especially the 1971 big body Mustang. I would sure vote for that yearly paint scheme on those, the red, white & blue ones. Creamy white body, large blue rocker panel stripe, red and blue pin stripping around the hood scoops and along the body. Plus the flag shield on the rear quarter panel. The only white car I ever wanted. Then again, I am partial to Mustangs.

The others welcome too. Has anyone heard about potential release dates. The 4 so far have not shown up in any Wal-Mart in my town; but, I did get some from a friend in another state.

All for now, Swamp Daddy
