Alloyparts 05-20-2007, 03:02 PM Congrats to all who made the trip down, there was some good racing over the weekend. There was a few problems with the timing system, but racing went on with little issues.
Congrats to Lance Jones for his TQ and to Scott for running in 2nd.
Hats off to Bill Gumbert a first time 1/4 scale sprint driver out of Niagara Falls NY who ran a solid weekend and finished 4th in the A main.
What can we say about Trevor Kier who ran the lights out of his WCM after flying all the way from the UK to be a part of the race.
Jamie a big congrats to you for your wonderfull job you did on sprint car and winning the Best in show trophy, Jamie had a god weekend as well for his first time out in a sprint and a home built job at that.
For all the rest that I didnt get a chance to meet, Thanks for the support and making the trip down to race. All the sponsers need a round of applause as well for the wonderful prizes.
I think a BIG THANKS goes out to TIM SHAFFER for allowing us to use his track and making this event possible, Scott George did a great job getting this all together for a great weekend of Dirt Racing.
Jason Fuller from Full Throttle Raceway in Ransomville NY did the best he could do with the issues he had with the amb system, THANKS JASON!
Sorry if I did not mention any other guy's, It has been a long week for me and a even longer weekend, I am sure when the offical post is made, it will host all of the proper info for everyone.

IN2RACIN 05-20-2007, 06:25 PM Hi All,
Ok, I’m not sure where to start……….I guess I should start by thanking Tim Shaffer, because without him this event would not have taken place! Next I want to thank All the sponsors (see list below), there were some great giveaways! Last, but certainly not least the RACERS! You guys are awesome! Great group of Racers!
There are so many I need to thank, but I’m sure I’ll forget someone and they’ll get mad at me…….. First, Jason Fuller (www.ftrcpark.com (http://www.ftrcpark.com)) for doing his best at scoring his first ¼ scale event, Doty Masiello for EVERTHING she did (it was a lot), Jamie Belfiore, “Michigan Dave” and Dustin for helping me out (with everything) all week, it was fun hanging out with these three, really nice guys! Todd Bishop (BRP Tires) for running “tech” and many other things. Tony Masiello for the Shaffer Speedway signs and helping with the #65 ride! Bill Swiontek, way to much to list, he’s just a great person. Jim Porter for helping me out with announcing. Reese Masiello for running after cars all weekend (this 12 year old kid can drive!). John Cibella for doing registration, plus helping me in the pits. Fred Musgrove for all his help with everything. John Pipchok for helping with the track preparation & turn marshaling. Bob Fritz you are a big help on, and off the track, and Frank Boling (www.racingrodends.com (http://www.racingrodends.com)) for supporting this event and turn marshaling when needed. I hope I didn’t forget anybody, but basically everyone there helped out in some way or another at one time! Thanks Guys & Gals!
Also, I would like to thank Donald Ethredge at Graphic Results (www.quarterscaledecals.com (http://www.quarterscaledecals.com)), and David Reid @ www.synthetic-solutions.com (http://www.synthetic-solutions.com) for supplying the Amsoil Saber Pro.
One more thing, Trevor Kier, driver of the “South Africa #56" made the LONG haul to race with us. Trevor came all the way from the United Kingdom, it was a pleasure meeting you my friend. You are a class act!
It was very trying at times, but all in all it was fun. I can say that it is almost impossible to try and race and announce / help run a ¼ scale event. I’m really tired……I normally don’t drink, but when it was all over I was looking for a cold one!

I can only sum this weekend up with one word. FUN!!!! That was the most fun I've ever had with an R/C car. But to the important part. The biggest fun for me was meeting everyone. I've talked with you guys on here and other forums for a long time and it was really nice to meet in person and have things to talk about. I cant wait till next year. I learned alot this race. Thanks Jamie and crew for the help. Tony, Thanks a bunch for your help as well. Had alot of fun with you and the family. I hope I can return the favors in the future. Thanks guys.
Trevor, I dont know what to say to you. I thought my trip was a long one. You my friend are a true lover of this sport. As for your wheels, I am still speechless. I hope you had a great time while in the states. Hope to see you next year.
To everyone else, I was glad to be a part of this. I hope everyone had a great time, and hope to see you next year. We need another dirt race somewhere I don't know if I can wait another year. :)

Tony: Was a great time to be had, and we did. The joy in racing 1/4 scales is the fellowship of great folks like you, Reese and whats her name, you know the woman, Oh, yes, I remember Doddie. Hope I spelled that correctly. Mechanical woes did my ride in but there will be another race this weekend. It was nice to meet some of the folks and put them together with screen names. Scott and crew thanks for the dirt exerience, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm going back to pavement. It's a lot of fun come try it with us some time.
It was nice to see so many sprint cars in one place. Randy and I have campaigned for years and it has paid off. Now if we can get some of those dirt racers to try some pavement.
Fred
FMurry8995 05-21-2007, 10:26 PM Sorry Guys. I did not mean to leave you all out. It was truly a great time and I enjoyed meeting new and old friends. It is always fun to meet new people with the same intrest.
Fred
big maestro 05-21-2007, 10:36 PM Fred, I am going to be at Clover this year. I have never really liked open wheel cars but I am just a freak over them now. I just hope they will be as much fun as the dirt was. It's going to be hard for me to like pavement but It's a racetrack so I bet they will be a blast. So count one more in for this years race. Also a big thanks to you and Randy for pushing these cars for so long. I hope it grows more next year.
Get that super done so we can run a few laps sometime. :p
Tell Randy I hope he gets his chassis fixed for the next race.
Take car guys.
Lance
Belf28 05-21-2007, 11:00 PM thanks guys for all the kind words.

FMurry8995 05-22-2007, 03:15 AM Lance:
You will like the pavement and Clover is a fun track. One thing for sure is you won't be all day cleaning off the dirt. Stripped most everything off mine and am getting ready for Iowa. Randy has a lot of work to do. I'll try and post photos later today. Have to get to bed now. Long day tommorow. Painting a couple of cars for the Woodward dream cruise this year.
Fred
Randy Baker 05-22-2007, 05:25 AM I also want to take some time out to send my thanks out to all of you who put on the race this last weekend . It was great to see that many sprinters at the same track at the same time . Like Fred said , hopefully some of you will try the pavement with us sometime , nothing like positive traction and full out speed . Scott if it wasn't for you and Bob Fritz giving me some helpful hints on Friday I'd still be doing dounuts and adding pontoons to the car to stay out of the mini lakes in the infield . The car was coming around , but not as fast as it did until you and I had a talk and Bob stopped by . Again many thanks . Yes , it was was fun getting together with all the racers , some we've raced with before and the ones we met for the first time . Looking forward to racing with you all again . Tony and Dodie, thanks for the coffee and your help , Reese you kept me laughing . Just how big was that rack ? Anyways , a good time was had . Speaking of time , gotta go , survival time , WORK . Hate four letter words that go along with snow and rain . Gonna be a few hours spent in the garage this week to fix the carnage , frame was hurt very much bad , everything else is minor details . Talk with you all later,
Randy

big maestro 05-24-2007, 08:31 PM I am just AMAZED that thing finished the race. I thought for sure it was done when I picked it up. Randy you did a hell of a job driving that thing that beat up. It looks really bad when it's just the frame. Are you going to be able to fix it or do you have to just build another one? Good luck.
FMurry8995 05-24-2007, 09:13 PM Lance:
Can you tell me how to post a picture to this thread. I can't remember how. actually I never did know. I would like to post the picture of the frame on Randys car. Thanks, Fred
