How do you get Future off without harming the paint job underneath? thanks... tjd

I don't know what it will do to your paint job underneath, but I would use isopropyl alcohol, or Windex or other glass cleaner. That is what I use to clean out my airbrush after shooting Future onto a model, so it should work.

Why do you want to take the Future off?

I thought Future was water based? It should just take some warm water and soft rubbing, let soak a little bit and repeat.

I'll try the warm water and follow that with the alkeehall if it doesn't work.

Why you ask?... I tried Future over grey primer (which came out really nice), but I changed my mind about the all grey look for this car. I wanted to try a contrasting hood color and keep the primer as is. It came out pretty smooth and thin too and I'd like to keep that intact. I can always strip the entire body, but in this case if I can get away without doing that, then even better. Just something to try I guess.

thanks again and Merry Christmas everybody.... tjd

future is acrylic, and ammonia is the right solvent to remove acrylic.

most of those blue colored glass cleaners have enough ammonia to do the trick. shouldnt even need to soak, just saturate a towel with the window cleaner and wipe the future off.

Windex with ammonia.

Yeah Windex is good. If you need to strip check out some automotive cleaners like Simple Green or Castrol Super Clean. Don't use Pine Sol. Down that route lies sadness.

Good luck!
