Hi,

I just installed a new Tec carb (632334A) on a MTD 8HP snowthrower. Once installed it fired for about 10 seconds then stopped and now I can't get it to start without starter fluid and it runs for only a few seconds after that then quits. I am new to this and would appreciate any suggestions to get this thing running.

If you hadn't said that you had already put a new carb.on it ...my first sugestion would be to clean the carb. out.
But since there is a new carb.on it.I mean the problem 'IS' fuel related if it will start on starting fluid.Take the fuel line off at the carb.see if pure gasoline runs out in a good stream.And it doesn't have any water in the fuel.If that's ok then losen the fuel cap (the air vent might be stoped up).If there is water in the fuel then drain and refell,replace the in-line fuel filter (if equiped),take the bowl off the carb.and clean.Make sure that the tiny hole between the threads if the bowl nut isn't stoped up.This should do the trick.if not reply back.
