I HAVE A SPHERE 2 STAR BRUSHLESS SYSTEM THAT WHEN I TURN IT ON AND HIT THE SET UP BUTTON THE RED LIGHT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING IT JUST STAYS ON IT WILL NOT FLASH OR NOTHING I HAVE THE RADIO ON AND I TEST THE RECEIVER AND RADIO IN ANOTHER CAR AND THE RADIO WORK FINE I CAN EVEN CHANGE THE MODE SETTING AND I HAVE IT SET FOR BRUSHLESS I NEED HELP WITH IT. I HAVE IT IN A NEW RUSTLER I HAD SOME ONE TELL ME I WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE STEERING SERVO BUT I CANNOT BUY THAT ONE I AM USING A JR3I RADIO AND A MATCHING RECEIVER YOU CAN E-MAIL ME AT mpangel02@yahoo.com

Are you holding the set button down until the led blinks?

yes i held it down for over a minute and it stayed solid red and never changed

Do you have the Sphere or the Sphere Competition? You should also be able to use any servo w/the JR radio as long as the wires are matched in the same configuration as the original servo. The instruction sheet that comes w/almost any replacement servo will show you how to do this.

You can set up the esc for neutral, throttle & brake without even having the steering connected to the receiver. I hate to say it, but sounds like a trip back for repairs is in order.

Before you send it back, call AE customer service (Donn answers the phone, great guy) and just explain your problem. They might have some suggestions.

One other thought, maybe the led function is burned out on the circuit board for setup. Try holding the set button down for about 5 seconds and then release. Then just follow the normal setup directions making sure to press the set button during calibration and then test. A hail marry, but might work!
