View Full Version : And if you have to have one of these... noddaz 12-23-2006, 09:04 PM http://www.surplusshed.com/pages/item/r3113.html But $3.50 may be too high... lol Scott FastMann 12-24-2006, 01:46 AM I think I can dig deep enough to find the funds to afford some of these. Crimnick 12-24-2006, 03:00 AM That brings up a good tech question if I may.... Am I hurting my older cars by running them on the tyco 22v high output wall warts?( I run one per lane) Should I keep my old AFX, Super G ,and new AW X-tracks and JL 500's on the shelf until I get a variable output power supply? sethndaddy 12-24-2006, 10:46 AM That brings up a good tech question if I may.... Commercial power supplies are 18V. Have fun running them, I do. ParkRNDL 12-24-2006, 12:00 PM Laugh if you want, but I just ordered a couple. --rick Crimnick 12-24-2006, 12:43 PM Ok thanks guys....I just had a horrible thought That I would fry the brushes or coms... :freak: Scafremon 12-26-2006, 10:52 PM Would using one of these slow down the Super G+ cars, so that kids on a smaller track wouldn't deslot so much? TK Solver 12-26-2006, 11:40 PM Yes, lower voltage will slow your cars. However, I've noticed that kids always seem to want to drive slot cars "on the edge". They want to see how fast they can go before they crash. The only way to reduce the deslot problem would be to reduce the power to a level where they could take all the turns at full speed... but then they'd get bored and quit. FastMann 12-27-2006, 12:50 AM It's a compromise you have to work with. It's hard in 1/32 scale because if you try to slow the cars too much you also take a risk on burning out the motor. I guess this would be the same for HO? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
