Whole new problem. I am switching out an old 12 hp briggs with a new one- used but new to me. anyway the old one had a wire from the mower wiring harness I assume was a stop switch that went to the governor and also connected at that point to the mag ground. My new carb and governor does not have a place to connect the 2 wires to the governor. Can I switch out the governors and carb and mount my old one to the new engine? the model types are not exactly the same. I assume both the carb and governor would come off in one piece and would mount straight one.

After looking at it a little more I'd rather just try to figure out the stop switch than change out the governors. Does anyone have an idea of where I should connect the stop switch that used to run to the throttle plate? Can I hook it directly up to the mag ground or does it have to be connected to the ground. Seems the ground connection would not let it start?? :confused:
