i have a gripload (12 packs) of IB3800's that have been used lightly and would like them rematched and made into new packs with the better of the cells... and the leftovers into practice packs.

i guess i could buy myself a trinity dpd or something and do my own testing, but i just dont have the time ;-)

i'd like to stick to our sponsors, but couldnt find one who was doing it... unless i missed the link on their websites...

any help fellow hobbytalkers?

RCMits, most matchers today don't offer the service. My guess would be it's not worth the time it takes or the hassle. It's also alot harder on the machine contacts, no matter how well you try to clean the cells there's always some solder on them and that gets on the contacts along with some flux. I have done it for people in the past, but it got to be to much hassle for the time it took. Most companies charged around $2.00 to clean, zap, and relable the cells. If you sent 50 cells back you would normally only get 3-4 ok practice packs and the rest would still be beater packs. So for the $100 you spent to get practice packs you can buy 2 race packs. Your better off selling the older packs for some money then to have them rematched into still practice packs, IMO.

good to know. i guess ill just keep using them for now. they are GREAT as stock packs.. which I run mostly, and they hold up in 19t at club level so for now, i should be fine then.... ill probably get myself a DPD or CTX-D to get an idea how each cell is "acting", and do my own "mini-tests" i guess for now.

much thanks for the info!

Mits, i got a CE single cell holder and when i get X-tra time (less and less) I single cell cycle them 2 or 3 a night to make a couple killer packs. Using the DPD you can get an idea of which cells NOT to bother with them let it rip. Dont expect miracles. Most of the time i was dissapointed with what got, the time was not worth the return. lately i have been buying 20 buck practice packs from my matcher friend and using them for practice. A fresh 20 dollar IBWC is still better than the best 3800 when you bang it at 8 amps!

You might want to check on E-bay they have four or five turbo matchers for sale right now, you can also check the swap and sell here on this forum. If you really want to rematch the cells, the cost of the matcher may be worth it for you, if you have the extra time.
