A 1/43 scale 1951 Chrysler Imperial convertible made by Brooklin.

It's interesting how whatever you are doing makes the chrome look gold in the pictures. Do you have a clue as to why that is?

What a BEAUTY!!!

Man...that looks like a car that a movie star would have owned and driven back in the day!

The only thing that looks a little odd is the large gas cap on the rear quarter panel, or is that something else?

Nice car and pic STUTZ!

Jim, I don't know why the chrome appears to look gold to you. I may not look like chrome, but it surely doesn't look like gold to me. It may be the lighting, or reflection from my gold necklace.

Here is what gold plated trim looks like on a Brooklin.

A pic from this thread that looks like the car has gold trim. It looks more chrome to me than gold compared to to pics above.

The gas cap has me wondering too StreetFreak. It looks rather large.

I think that's my favorite of all the Brooklins you've posted so far. Love that deeeep maroon paint work. What a treasure you've got there. Thanks for sharing it, STUTZ!

Well the gold trim ones sure look more gold, golder  than the Chrysler but it still looks gold tinted to me. I have oft been accused of looking at life through rose colored glasses, maybe they are turning gold as I approach , or have entered, the "golden years". ;)

If you look closely at the pictures in the links below you can see the chrome gas cap with the chrome surround makes the cap look rather large. Looks like Brooklin got it right.

Thanks BluntFronts. I am beginning to like it more now.

I'm beginning to like this this model a little more because of Galaxieman's replies.
The links that you posted are very helpful and interesting Jim.
I've had this Brooklin for several years, but I didn't remember that I had it because it was packed away in a box with other 1/43 scale diecast cars that weren't Brooklin cars.

Boy, that is a BIG gas cap!

Brooklin did a NICE job with their casting and chrome trim pieces. They seem to be pretty accurate to the real thing.

Take a look a Galaxieman's links. There are many pics of 1:1 1951 Chrysler Imperials. There are very interesting specs on the car too.
