It is sharing pictures that creates interest amongst collectors -I have only bought so many King Size this year because of photo posts -forums such as this and Mboxcommunity .com are vital driving forces behind vintage toys collector markets.
Here are my favourite scores of 2006 in small scale -the blisters came in March and the 4 boxed Superfast came in July -all from collector toymarkets

Those photos represent almost all my blisters (scored in March 2006),but I do have 24 different G boxes -as a transitional kid my collecting goal is to have all 75 G boxes (I know there are variations,but one per 1-75) and each small scale casting in c9 shape or better from 1969,1970 and 1971.I am only missing 13 castings but will have to swap some baseplates to make all color variations -done the 53 Zodiac so far.

Does everybody here set a limit on the focus of their Matchbox collecting ???
How many on this forum focus on Matchbox that was in the shops when you were kids???

I tried to collect just what I liked but it got out of hand -so I have sold off all but 3 Sikus, and my most valuable older regular wheels.I am keeping and treasure my Huskys, Corgi Rockets and pre 1973 Corgi Juniors - does anybody else here collect these 3 ranges????

my collection belongs to my old man and myself
he purchased mainly the fifties and early sixties, almost all were sold at conventions and i purchased mainly sixties and seventies, some eighties and nineties. stuck with the y's, lledo and hartoy through the eighties and nineties. :)

i haven't purchased or sold anything off of eebay, most of what we have was purchased before eebay at retail or through A.I.M.
it was nice to visit hal's house and harold's place many times.
he had so many matchbox it was ridiculous. when you thought a model was hard to find he would have a few of them.
he would have shelf after shelf of matchbox many of the same model. he didn't hoard them, he wanted to give the new collector a fair chance to obtain the hard and not so hard to find models ( see early seventies flyer in this post ). i always thought he was fair
and the museum was a sight to see

Great photos :thumbsup: I also have some c9 cars with good boxes (Corgi ,Dinky and Lesney9 that I bought as a child in the mid 70s.
Most important to me is the memories of those toys shops stuffed with late 60s and early 70s toys at a time where I had enough pocket money for 2 or 3 small cars each month -my collection today reflects the elimination of my childhood frustration at not being able to buy what i wanted :wave:
A green SF MG110o for 75c -yes please! I have a spare blue SF and will buy a spare green RW and do a base swap in March after my next local toyfair - a good c9 green RW will only cost $3-4. My father bought the low budget version of this ,the brand new Morris 11oo, the week i was born - so this casting has special significance to me - he replaced it in 1967 with a 25 Ford Cortina in metallic brown - another Lesney, and a Morris Mini in 1973 (lesney 29) but there the Lesney connection ends........
