I did it.. Solder got between my motor connectors, Completely Smoked my GTB. I seen one on fire before due to the same prblem. Mine put on the best lightshow youd ever seen.. I was in a hurry, my stupidity. I bought this at a hobbytown, i dont have my receipt. Do you guys think novak will repair this? Never get in a hurry and and always make sure the connections are good.. Oh yeah RC AVENGER how long does it take before your car quits stinkin...

The stink will remind you to be careful! LOL!

Sorry 'bout your luck. I have had the expensive screw ups too.

I'm sure Novak will do something for you. But, you will probably have to pay for it.

This is probably why they put solder tabs on the Velocity motors instead of the "stick the wire through the hole & solder" terminals. Maybe also how I blew mine up,too.

The thing I dont understand is that i looked over everything before i ran ,specifically looking for solder between the tabs. I didnt see anything, and didnt after it caught fire either....

Mine also went up in flames & it looked similar to the pic. I can almost smell it from Florida! LOL Returned it to Novak and got a free reconditioned one (I had my reciept) along w/ a service report saying the original speedo burned due to "severe Mosfet failure". Might not be a bad idea to take a tiny flat head screwdriver (or similar tool/item) & scrape between the 4300 motor terminals after you solder the wires on to ensure that there isn't any stray solder making a connection between terminals. Don't turn on the car until you do this.

The guys at the track did but no one posted them. Like i said "always make sure you connections dont have solder crossing them". Maybe my greif will help others.
