View Full Version : 2007 Paved Oval Nats
I know it's a bit early,but,If any of y'all are even thinking about the ROAR Nats in 07,this is 1 fine facility.The hobby shop alone is worth coming to see!!! Big wide lanes,smoother than the glass on the window,tons of parking and electrical,plenty to do nearby. August 17-19 2007,Easley will also be hosting the ROAR region 3 May 19{?}
JH Racing 12-17-2006, 06:21 PM I plan on making the trip.
Is there a web site with some track pictures?
Here is the tracks site, this is one of the nicest racing facilities in the country, http://www.carolinarc.com/
JH Racing 12-17-2006, 09:38 PM When does their season start and what do you need for tires.
When does their season start and what do you need for tires.
We race year round, for tires four pinks and you'll be fast, if it's cool you might try reds on the inside. As for tires for the nats, they have yet to be determined.
Capped tires, right?
I didn't know there was a different kind of tire LOL!
You florida guys c'mon up and give it a try,I think you'll like it.Caps are far cheaper than foams.
swtour 12-18-2006, 12:58 AM What is the closest Airport (Major) and how far from it?
How critical is tire choice on this track (I have a TON of OLD (ronnie vines era) BSR tires that have just been sitting for the better part of 10 years...
The airport is the Greenville-Spartanburg International, this is a roar race so it will be handout tires. All you will need is the one set of tires that will be included in the entry fee price, this track is extremely and I mean extremely, friendly on tires.
JH Racing 12-18-2006, 05:56 PM DK I am from Delaware.

TBRC1 12-31-2006, 01:16 PM So if I understand correctly the tires are hand out, one set with entry. Will there be more tires for sale as well ?? What about motors for the 4 cell stock or nineteen turn classes ? Will they be handout as well or bring your own ? It's been a looooooooooooooong time since I have been to a national event. Back in 99 it was bring your own foam tires for carpet and get a motor with entry or so I seem to remember.
Brooks22 12-31-2006, 02:42 PM mike give me a call. its steve from pensacola,fl
JH Racing 12-31-2006, 04:29 PM It is definately handout tire and I am sure for stock it is handout also 19 turn bring your own.

TBRC1 01-01-2007, 09:26 PM Any idea of what the motor will be ??? also when might there be a flyer about the race ????
The flyer is in the works,we have the regions in May to get ready for first. There are several local motels that have gotten on board, all within two -three miles of the track, one that is about a half a mile up the highway which is a brand new one.Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.
Dawn Sanchez 01-02-2007, 09:56 AM we are currently taking bids for the handout stock and 19T motors from suppliers.. no decision has been made as of yet. The ROAR RMT will make that announcement shortly.
:)
Dawn
LOL,bring it Jim,com on down!!!!
The flyer for the Regions race is up,it's over on the race events forum.
Tornado_Racing 01-07-2007, 08:25 PM Will there be a "Track Class"? Like maybe 4-cell Spec Truck?
Will there be a "Track Class"? Like maybe 4-cell Spec Truck?
Tony,
There is going to be a track class,it'll be either super spec or the truck class, from what I'm hearing sounds like their leaning towards the trucks.
MIDWESTRC 01-07-2007, 10:57 PM Pepe, any word on 13.5 class? Or are they just going to have the handout stock class? I think the turnout would be bigger if 13.5 were a class. That class is really big up in this area.
jflack 01-07-2007, 11:19 PM I'm up for the 13.5 BL class.
jflack 01-07-2007, 11:36 PM '----'
pretty sure there won't be a 13.5 class it'll be 4300BL for the brushless guys.
MIDWESTRC 01-08-2007, 01:53 PM That bites !!!! I bet alot of people don't show because of that. You guys should contact ROAR and see if you can get them to run 13.5's. I contacted them but have not heard back yet.
I guess there's possibility for a change,I don't know. There aren't any brushless classes around here, personally I'm not interested in brushless,it's just one less thing out of the racing equation, motors and engines are an intregal part of racing,I want to be able to work on my motors.

this is the "stock" version.. correct?
17driver 01-08-2007, 04:07 PM this is the "stock" version.. correct?
Yes Dawn.
Dawn Sanchez 01-08-2007, 06:12 PM Yes Dawn.
LOL... apologies but my brushless knowledge is more limited than I care to admit...
right now, stock brushless is not in the rule book and intentions to do so with rule generation will be for 2008. To request a deviation for this motor will end up in a denial ... for now... but we are working on that as stated above. :)
(btw, no way a stock brushless is equivalent to a stock brushed.... no way to do so I understand from the top BL MFG's. Its being worked on)
MIDWESTRC 01-10-2007, 12:10 AM I understand, I just thought I would ask. Alot of the northern racers got out of the brushed motors, our 2 biggest classes at Triclone are 4300 brushless and 13,5 brushless. Most racers sell off all their brushed equipement when they change over to brushless, you just don't need all that stuff anymore.
Dawn, did you get an answer on the other part of my message yet? Email me if you need more info.
yea I've been hearing how brushless has taken over in the north and midwest, hopefully it won't take over here,I just can't imagine racing without real motors.
Larry B 01-10-2007, 02:19 PM Pepe, I think it is just a matter of time till brushless takes over in the mid-south. Brushless started strong in the mid-west and is moving east, It is now in the north (ORL and many tracks) and comming south. Brushless will be at the Bird's and in FL. and heading north to the mid-south. All it is going to take is getting the 13.5 class (for racers not wanting 19turn speed) going in the mid-south and it will be here.
Roar will be slow to accept it (more than 4300 classes), because of the manufactures that produce ESC, motors, brushes, dynos and ect. trying to hold on to their market share will lobby them hard.
