It looks like QSAC and the Manufactures are trying to help promote 1/4 scale to the public. What do you guys think? These are the first 1/4 scale ads in a national magazine in 18 years. Lets let Qsac and the Manufactures know that we care.

I think it's awesome, hopefully ads pop up in other magazines also.

Anybody have any News on the first QSAC NCS event?

I thought about a rule proposal to send up to QSAC on spring rates & colors. I wanted to get everyone's opinion on the issue before I moved on it.

My proposal:To make it mandatory for all QSAC mfg's to have the same color codes assigned to a certain spring rate.

Example:
QSAC color = 8lb
QSAC color = 10lb
QSAC color = 12lb
and so on.......

I know that all the mfgs do not carry the same springs. No matter, the rates they carry, the color per pound would be the same as assigned by QSAC. This would take some coordination from the mfgs & QSAC to get implemented but In the long run, it would definitely make things easier on all.

What do you think?

Tim

LOL, I have seen this for myself at last years NCS at LPR. That is ok and understandable.

Wouldn't it be nice to pick up the phone to order a certain color spring rate from one mfg and it be the same as the next?

Tim Mc

Yeah, ain't it wild? Unless you know what mfg furnished the spring, you might be installing a 12lb instead of a 8lb. I knowfor fact, I have done this!!!...lol

Believe me; I have no intention of over ruling the hobby especially the hard working mfgs. That is why I'm asking for opinions here and not going ahead. :)

If QSAC were to impliment a color code per rate, I would paint my springs (the ones I know the rate) to reflect their codes.

If QSAC were to impliment a color code per rate,

I really don't see a need for this to be a rule. If the manufactures want to
do this on there own is fine but i don't see a reason for a ruling body to
create a rule for something that really isn't a problem.
Rules are to keep the racing fair and make for good racing. and to keep it safe, and to keep the cost down as well , which in turn makes for good racing because of more participation . The right front spec tire is a good
example of said rule. I don't do this but what if i was the type to
take the paint off my springs to keep my setup more of a secret.
Because QSAC made this rule i can't take the paint off my springs.
and if i can still do that , then whats the point of the rule again.?
Most guys know what they have for springs. I like many have spring from
3 different manufactures. I don't get confused. I keep them separated.
and if you look closer you can actually tell the difference between who made the spring anyhow. also 2 blue springs by same manufacture dont' always
give you the same rate. The only benefit of such a rule would be to see
someones setup quickly at a glance. most guys will tell you what they
are using anyhow if you ask. because they know that the springs is only
a part of that setup. not to mention that not every car likes to run the
same springs as another.
This would only cost the manufactures money for no real benefit and im not going to repaint all the springs in my race box that i already own. and i m not rebuying them . I don't believe this would go anywhere if submitted
either. want to get confused by spring rates and colors? go check out
all the different springs for 1/10 scale. and all the different classes.
with alll the different colors and rates. its not a problem there, shouldn't be
a problem here.
SPRING IS HERE. GET READY. HAVE FUN

I don't think so. Rick indicted to me his travel schedule would be pretty restricted this year..He’s just very busy with work and some job related schooling.

He think by next season things should settle down and he can hit the road again.

Sprint2b is correct. We no longer race at Naugles. We now race at Shaffer's. The tracks are about 4 miles apart.

Hey guys please check out this Ebay auction 110071252648 and let this guy know that he is bad for the sport. He is saying that this car is a 2005 WCM which I think we can all agree that it is a lot older. This is the kind of sellers that ruin our sport. Please post questions to this seller about the year of this car. I did and he told me I didn't know what I was talking about. He responded and told me about his great Ebay ratings and called me all kinds of names. I challenged him to post my questions but he wouldn't do that. I think this is the same guy that sells the 1/4 scale DVD that is 20 years old on Ebay. Of course with all the editing of adding the girls you would think it was an up to date video. Please give you input!!!

yea, I seen this auction about 2-3 months ago. He had something like 1200.00 buy it now on it. I was wondering where he got it was a 2005 car. Just report it to ebay. It takes them a while but they will check it out.

Tim Mc

Looking at the fact that everything he sells he puts tasteless pics with them should send a message to buyers. I think QSAC should go after him for royalty fees since he uses the Orgs name on his dvds.

Its possible it is " NEW IN BOX" meaning never ran. but it not a 2005 for sure.
its more like mid 90's. not sure when they went away from the straight axle.
i bought a used wcm in 2000. i was probably built 97 ,98 or 99 not sure and it wasn't much different then what you get now minus the improvments and updates. but basicly the same. so this guy is lying for sure. if it is a wcm , its very old. and from those pictures you can't tell if it been run any. i don't think anyone who wants to race it will be fooled. when your talking that much money, most do some homework before they buy so they can get the newest as possible for the money . and they have seen other cars at the track already so they should notice how out dated that car is.

Trying to move in the next month or two and get a workshop back together.

Tim, I ran a rear sway bar in Montgomery a few times on my cracker car but... really didn't like the way it made the car. I felt it was just one more thing to adjust and worry about getting JUST right! Kind of like the rear was fighting the front and the front fighting the rear!
Years ago, Terry Rea ran a rear sway bar on his lightning at HIS own track and he won with it but that could have just been Terry Rea! :)
