Talks getting deep. I think he just be the man to beat. Lets see the track is a whooping 12 min from his house maybe. I know we will be on it every day until our cars are UNTOUCHABLE

Maybe we can use that green car as a pace car or something :D

Hi All,

If you have pictures of your 2007 Qscale ride please send them to me and I’ll post them in the “Photo Gallery” link on the QSAC site.

Also, if you have any vintage ¼ scale photos, or Mag. articles that you would like to share please submit those as well.

Thank you,
Scott

Any one want to weigh in on engine rebuilding? How long between? Notice in power loss? Sounds funny? Just curious of what to watch for, or just plain maintenance. I've ran my red cap for two seasons with no rebuilds and no problems at all, but some preventative maint. tips would be a huge help. And besides, I can't back up all that smack I was talkin' with a beat down engine!!! GOGREEN33

I was going to say, all of that smack, and now comes the excuses already. You better get your little ride all tip top, I don’t need to here well your guys have new cars, or the planets went aligned or something. No excuses  Just think of the smack if I beat you, a "seasoned" 1/4 scale driver.

Y do U want to true them U by them the size U want???????

IN2RACIN

Do you mean balance?

IHAUL
03-09-2007, 08:01 PM
most of the time they are trued better than anyone else can do .
it has been tried lots of times by lots of people here in michigan.
the big thing is the balance .

Slider
03-09-2007, 08:07 PM
IN2RACIN.No Sir.I do not mean balance. That is easy. Im talking about making the tire perfectly round. As with a tire lathe. reason, on a tire that starts getting "coned".make it tru.

Okay im a 1/10 scale pancar nut. and i want my tires perfect. Every little detail helps.

IHAUL
03-09-2007, 08:14 PM
tring to true the tire you need to spin the tire very fast.
then sand or cut the tire . this heats up the tire more than
when its running on the track and causes the glue holding
the band to the host or the foam insert to let go.
ending in a ruined tire that you just paid good money for.

IHAUL

coning is stoped by camber adjustment posable front or rear on 1/4 scale

rybred33
03-09-2007, 08:21 PM
Most use temp gun to get within 10 degrees across contact patch, I use this method and have great results. Also ,check often to ensure temps.

I understand this. But if you get in a collision and something gets overlooked. a tire will get coned rather quickly.

Really was seeing if anyone pays them small details in 1/4 scale.

IHAUL

you will bend a hiems? joint to get that . as in all other
forms of racing in the heat of the battle you must decide
if you want to stop and check your car or spend more money
after the first open practice is over LOL LOL

You can true the host, but if you have to true the tire itself, you waited way too long to fix something. The tire is toast.

9 times out of ten if you order tires from Bishop and WCM the hosts are trued , rather the hosts before the rubber cap is put on . Some of the other guys who mount their own or mount tires for people have a way to true up the hosts . They use different various methods . Todd Bishop has a rig set up he uses at the races I've seen him use . I've attempted this process myself and never got it right , probably because I haven't figured how to do it with a cigarette in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other , or I don't hold my tongue right . Anyways , I saw a rig used buy a fellow racer with using an electric motor with a wheel hub mounted on the shaft and sand paper on a hinged board used as a fulcrumb against the host as it spins . The geometry woud have to be worked out but it be possible to build something that like to true up the hosts before the cap is put on . I agree with the other guys , once the cap is on you can balance them but truing up the rubber will get costly . If the tires are coning , usually it means too much camber or something is bent or out of alignment somewhere .

I'm not sure but I don't think you're supposed to be using your tongue. I do understand the cigarette and coffee part though. Thanks Randy, you made me laugh.

Why yes he is one of the few people that come to mind . The tires he did for me on the QT worked well in my favor and still are used to this day . I always look forward to going to MPR . Looks like three times possible this year .
