Hi, after 2 years runnig my Kamitiro w a Zenoah , i must tell you i'm a little dissapointed. With the correct mix of amsoil and new high octane gas, they keep on diying on me.... and them it wont start again, i turn it, and a black oily mess drop from spark plug hole, i tell you... i'm very frustrated w this motor.
I heard you guys talking about your zenoah reliability on and on, and i just want to know the SECRETS.... I'm a newbee, waiting for a new PRO 1 stock car this month, PLEASEEE!!! pass me your knowledge of years running those devilish machines, i don't really understand.

Thanks Jose

There is no best kept secret. when your done running it, empty the fuel out and start it. let it run till it quits. stale fuel gums up carburator. If it is not staying running it is probably carb related Mixture adjustment probably not right. or a leaking gasket somewhere.

I was having problems keeping mine running so I wnet and rebuilt the carb and it runs great now. Also like slider said, keep the old gas out of the car, I run mine until it dies at the end of race day.

Q/S NASCAR. Over the years i have had excellent service with Zenoah. Most frequent problem would be a gasket seeping. like anything they need tighened up every so often.and carb problems.Need to take apart and give a general cleaning. Doesn't take but a small piece of foreign object to make one run rotten. But that goes with any two stroke.

When you say "correct mix", what oil to gas ratio are you using?

And when you say "dying", what exaclty is happening?

Craig the mix is 30:1 , w Amsoil and after a long run the car dosent start again and is dripping w a black goop at the spark hole, i turn it over and after a while when is complately dry start again. Thank for the help you could give me.

Jose

Q/S NASCAR. 30 to 1 is a bit much considering it a 100 to 1 recomended. But 40 to 1 would be better just for racing. You are probably getting to much oil left in crank case. That would make one do as your saying.

First is the oil, Amsoil ? what oil? Dominator? Mix theoil at no more than 3 oz. to a gallon. Second gas. Are you running pump gas? If so switch to VP racing fuel. Preferred is C-16. This fuel will not vapor lock as does pump fuel. These suggestions should cure the problems you are having. If not you may need to adjust your carb, it really does not sound like a carb issue.
I have been running these motors for over ten years now and have never had a problem with fuel except when I forgot my racing fuel one day and tried to use pump gas.In the July heat it did not work.
