Hey, I am creating a home made RC hovercraft and I have a quick question about servos.
I need a servo that turns 180 degrees or just under. Is there such thing? Are servos adjustable in how much they turn?
I know very little about them. And any help is much appreciated.
Thanks!

They all turn 180 degrees i belive. The travel is adjusted on the radio. Its called atv or end point adjustment. I think all radios have this adjustment. One other thing in you can get metal or plastic gears and diferent speed servos as well as servos that are much stronger then others. But as with anything else these options are all money so decide wether you need them or not. O and the plug is different on diffent brands so make sure to check the manuals of you radio and servo so you dont have a short when you plug er in.
Hope that helps

Actually, most vehicle related servos do NOT turn 180 degrees; it is inherit of their design. They are limited (usually to 160 degrees or less) on their output gear and it would be impossible to reach 180 degrees without modifying their design. Even if you modified the output gear, you would damage the potentiometer. However, it is easily modifiable, but you will lose position-input control. What I mean is you will lose the ability to have the servo positioned relative to the input from a normal radio. You can purchase special-made servos, which are usually winch or sail servers (as you would use on a sail boat). Hope this helps a bit, your best bet out of my quick search that I did is to look here:

They have modified servos and control boards, which is probably what you are looking for...let me know how it goes.
